Calamity

Athena, who was abruptly woken up from her sleep, stretched her neck up to see what happened She saw the driver, who was sitting on his seat without moving at all. Not just the driver, everyone on the bus was the same-silent and still.

She got up from the seat in puzzlement at this scene and called out to the person sitting close to her. To her alarm, he did not react at all! He didn't even move one bit. Furthermore, his eyes were so lifeless and empty that he seemed...dead.

Athena was so shocked by this, she retreated back a few steps. Then she turned her head to look at the other people in the bus. Unbelievably, each and everyone of them were the same as that man, just like ghosts.

The whole place was deathly silent, not even the wind was heard. Also, when Athena turned to look outside the window, she found out that her current location was on a road that was surrounded by mountains on both sides. There was no sign of life as far as the eye could see. This place was not familiar to her at all.

When faced with this type of horrifying situation, who could remain calm? She was no exception. What had happened in the time she feel asleep?

Where was this place, so unfamiliar?

Thousands of questions flooded Athena's brain as she panicked and hurriedly stumbled towards the door of the bus, opened it and got down. She didn't know what to do and just stared at the corpse-like people. Fear growing in her heart as she tried to compose herself. She had completely forgotten about her aunt at this point.

Suddenly, amidst her confusion, a rumbling sound was heard from above her. Just as she looked towards the sound.....

BANG!!!!

A large burning chunk of rock descended from the sky at lightning speed, hurling and howling against the wind and crashed down 50 meters far from Athena, making a loud explosion. The impact of the crash made her fall back a few steps onto the ground. The bus was also flung back a bit.

"Ugh..."

Athena slowly got up from the ground to stand and saw a huge fire near her. The ground had a huge hole in it and it was burning with flames.

She stood there staring on, dumbfounded. The fire burned viciously, swallowing up everything near it getting closer and closer…

While in this situation, a person would run, Athena did not move an inch. She felt the intense heat on her face as it got closer yet she did not run and just stayed rooted there as if all her strength had left her. Her mind had blanked out as her emerald eyes reflected the red color of the viscous fire caused by the meteorite that suddenly crashed down.

Just then, she saw a silhouette of a person amidst the fire. A dark shadow that had a pair of blood red eyes. Those eyes seemed like those of a Demon of Hell who just woke up from a long slumber, full of blood-thirst and killing intent...
