232. Cao Cao-Liu Bei Vs. Lu Bu

This caused both Yu Mi and Hua Xin began to resent Liu Yao, the two of them had been introspecting themselves these past few days and could see that they were blinded by their envy, and all of this is because Liu Yao didn't give them a chance, now he could only scolded them which makes them aggrieved.

This meeting was held by Liu Yao to find some sort of plan or countermeasure, far from Yang Province which was in chaos to the north of Xu Province, Cao Cao and Liu Bei finally met once again at Dongpingling.

The last time they met was at Runan, where Liu Bei still holds all of Qing Province in his hand, while Cao Cao lost some of his land to Lu Bu. Now the situation is the reverse of that, it was Liu Bei who lost his land to Lu Bu, while Cao Cao expanded his land.

In the history of this timeline, this will be a repeat of the old chapter in the original timeline for the two figures, the difference was just in the Province Liu Bei held which was Qing Province and not Xu Province.

Cao Cao brought 150,000 men while the rest consolidated his rule at Kong Zhou's domain that was under his rule from now on, and drove out bandits that wanted to take advantage of the situation.

Liu Bei and Cao Cao are now sitting on a gazebo, just the two of them drinking some tea together while looking at the horizon, talking about the matter of the land and Emperor Xian of Han.

Liu Bei: "Brother Mengde, how does Your Majesty fare? As one of the Imperial Scions, I'm ashamed that I haven't even visited Your Majesty once after his succession under Dong Zhou, then Li Jue & Guo Si, and even after being saved by you."

Liu Bei: "Since Brother Mengde said it like that, then I would like to once again officially face to face with Brother Mengde that I would like for your help for me to retake Qing Province and oust the ungrateful Lu Bu!"

Cao Cao: "Brother Xuande's request for help I gladly accept! I have an enmity with Lu Bu that I also would like to finish, so helping Brother Xuande is like hitting two birds with one stone."

Liu Bei: "Great! I will repay Brother Mengde's generosity and kindness by lending Brother Mengde Qing Province for 2 years with me as the Governor."

Cao Cao nodded his head and cupped his fist toward Liu Bei while giving a smile, it looked like he agreed with what Liu Bei said but in truth, he didn't believe Liu Bei's words a single bit since Liu Bei is the same Lu Bu but more cautious, smarter, and good at acting.

He is also good at talking and noticing people's hearts, something that Lu Bu lacked and the reason why Cao Cao took Liu Bei as one of his biggest enemies alongside Lie Fan who was almost the same as him.

Cao Cao and Liu Bei then proceeded to exchange philosophies that the two of them had, this exchange should have happened prelude to the Anti-Dong Zhuo Alliance where both of them see through the intention of the Alliance.

Cao Cao is a pragmatism and legalism believer, while Liu Bei is an idealism and Confucianism believer. Everyone should expect that the exchange of these two philosophies will clash but in truth, it's not.

This talk caused both Cao Cao and Liu Bei to see each other in a different light, Cao Cao's tried to restore order in this chaos by establishing a new one, while Liu Bei also wanted to restore order but by holding onto the mast of irreparable sinking Han Dynasty ship.

Cao Cao felt that his decision to choose Liu Bei as one of his greatest rivals besides Lie Fan was the right decision, while Liu Bei saw Cao Cao as his greatest adversary, even greater than Lie Fan.

Cao Cao and Liu Bei's exchange of philosophies continued until late afternoon, from just drinking tea they had food served on the table, and after the last bite, they said goodbye parting ways.

The next day, Cao Cao and Liu Bei filled with renewed their beliefs and strengthened their philosophies leading their army together alongside their retainers toward the outskirts of Dongpingling County bordering Juxian County.

In the outskirts, the combined army of Cao Cao and Liu Bei meets up with Lu Bu's army which can be seen from their encampment and fortifications had been waiting for them for a while.

The Allied Army of Cao Cao and Liu Bei began to enter their formation, Liu Bei and Cao Cao flanked by their generals rode forward toward the middle, and from Lu Bu's side, the same thing was being done by Lu Bu.

The three of them meet in the middle alone, Liu Bei and Cao Cao's generals such as Xu Chu and Guan Yu insist on staying with their lord, because if Lu Bu decides to kill the two of them then no one can stop him because there was no one to protect Liu Bei and Cao Cao.

Both Liu Bei and Cao Cao rejected their request and insistence, they knew that Chen Gong had told Lu Bu to not do so, as the political backlash it could have on Lu Bu is very significant which could hinder him from having allies in the future.

The meeting of Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Lu Bu on the middle ground was something that never happened in the original timeline, due to Lu Bu staying or more like locking himself up at Xiapi accompanying Diao Chan.

He let his army do the battle, with Chen Gong strategizing and commanding the army through Xiapi, which was not efficient and caused Lu Bu to finally be surrounded by Xiapi.

Cao Cao: "Lu Fengxian we finally meet again! Just surrender since you will be defeated by me and Brother Xuander sooner or later, why waste innocent life in the process of our battle."

Lu Bu: "Humph! Cao Mengde's arrogance hasn't changed one bit, looks like having The Emperor under your thumb has made you think you control the world just like Doing Zhou."

Liu Bei: "Brother Mengde is not being arrogant, Brither Fengxian just surrendered peacefully and returned Qing Province to me, then I will take it that all of this never happened and you alongside your force can leave peacefully."

Lu Bu: "Haha Xuande Xuande, surrender is a word that I Lu Bu Lu Fengxian never had! Qing Province is a mine now, I suggest that both you and Mengde leave Qing Province if you don't want to be defeated by me."

Cao Cao: "The Army and the talented people you have are much lower than what I and Brother Xuande have combined, especially our advisors which outclass Gongtai on your side, we never be defeated by the likes of you!"

Liu Bei: "Then since Brotehr Fengxian doesn't want to do this peacefully, the only way we can do is force Brother Fengxian to hand over Qing Province, I apologize if the life of you and your family will not be spared in the process of this battle."

The exchange between ten three great men ended on a sour note, each returned to their group of generals and then returned to their respective command, where they expanded their meeting to their own advisors.

Guo Jia, Xi Zhicai, and Ju Shou suggested that they attack Lu Bu's encampment and fortification tomorrow, letting their army take a rest after their march from Dongpingling, with security on a high alert.

This was actually a great decision on the parts of Cao Cao and Liu Bei's advisors for suggesting the security of the call to be on high alert because at night time Lu Bu led his famous Bingzhou Wolf Cavalry doing a night raid attack.

The order of high alert made Cao Caoa and Liu Bei have their best generals out on a shift schedule, to lead their army and be ready for combat if Lu Bu suddenly attacked them, which Lu Bu did just like they predicted.

At the time Lu Bu launched the raid attack, it was Xu Chu from Cao Cao's side and Zhang Fei from Liu Bei's side who was on guard duty, when they received the news of the Lu Bu raid attack they immediately headed out.

Lu Bu who was accompanied by Zhang Liao and Cheng Lian didn't know that Xu Chu and Zhang Fei were leading their respective units to take them on, feeling that their plan worked out Lu Bu kept the onslaught ignoring Zhang Liao's suggestion to retreat.

Not listening to Zhang Liao's suggestion proved to backfire on Lu Bu, because both Xu Chu and Zhang Fei arrived at their location of attack, where they immediately engaged with Lu Bu and his unit.

Both Zhang Fei and Xu Chu immediately targeted Lu Bu, attacking him together at the same time making Lu Bu have no choice but to take them head on. He already knew about Xu Chu, but Zhang Fei's strength truly surprised him as he was on the same level as Dian Wei and Xu Chu, making him had to face this seriously.
