Mood Maker, Joo In Guk

After the incident with Bomi, she ceased all contact with Hyuk. Hyuk similarly stopped going to Rockstar Pub since that was her usual hangout. He didn't want to bump into her.

'You f*cking incestuous bastard,' her words kept ringing in his head.

After that time, he kept asking himself why he thought of Yeo Ri back then, why he was craving for her instead of a perfectly normal, unrelated girl like Bomi. He was so scared by his thoughts that he was starting to lose sleep.

'Lee Hyuk, why are you like this?' He asked himself. Why was he so f*cked up? Why did he think of Yeo Ri at that time? Of all people, why did he want her? He was ashamed and afraid. He didn't even dare to go home and see the girl in fear of doing something unspeakable. He spent the entire night sitting outside at a park.

"Yo, you okay?"

Noticing a familiar guy sitting on the bench with a hunched back, Joo In Guk took the initiative to greet him. "Lee Hyuk? Hey, are you alright?"

Hyuk looked terrible. His hair was a ruffled mess and his eyes were sunken. His clothes were messy as well, and he could recognise it as the same set of clothes he had seen the guy wear the day before.

"Could it be... hey, did you stay out here since yesterday?!" In Guk gaped. "Hey, are you really okay?!"

"Go away," Hyuk shook the guy off with a raspy voice.

"You look like sh*t," Jin Goo stated plainly. He was accompanying his friend to the park. In his hand was a blue-coloured frisbee. The two were originally planning to play with it at the park for an hour or two before getting some food and going to the arcade.

"Gee, thanks very f*cking much, Captain Obvious," Hyuk responded bitingly. He rubbed his eyes, feeling extremely exhausted and impossibly burdened. There was too much going on in his head. "Leave me alone."

In Guk and Jin Goo exchanged glances. the weary-looking guy did not match with the aggressive gangster in their memory at all. Seeing his tensed shoulders, In Guk felt as if all the burden in the world was weighing the guy down.

"Hey, wanna come and join us?" In Guk kindly invited. "We're about to play some frisbee. I guarantee you that it'll be fun, hm?"

"Go away," Hyuk said with a worn-out sigh.

"C'mon~ I know you want to~"

"C'mon, Lee Hyuk~"

"Don't be such a spoilsport~ Come and play~"

Jin Goo facepalmed himself as he watched his spoiled brat of a friend court his own death. It was clear that the guy was not in the mood to play, but In Guk kept bothering him. "Stop that, In Guk. If he doesn't want to join, then he doesn't have to."

In Guk ignored Jin Goo's warning. He wanted to cheer him up but he was using the only way he knew how: by inviting him to play. It was a fairly childish plan but he was someone who had lived a relatively easy life without much conflict so he didn't know any other methods.

In Guk grabbed the frisbee from Jin Goo, then threw it to Hyuk lightly, "Catch!"

Hyuk jolted from the sudden thing being thrown at him. He glowered and picked it up. "I said go away!" He threw it back to In Guk aggressively. It landed on the ground beside him, slightly digging into the earth.

"..."

In Guk and Jin Goo stared at the frisbee in stunned silence. They wondered how much strength Hyuk had used to make it stick in the ground like that.

"Woah..." In Guk muttered under his breath. As if his spirit was undaunted, he cheered, "Hey, that's the spirit!"

Any sane person would have been frightened by it, but this was In Guk. Instead of feeling scared, he optimistically thought that Hyuk was opening up to them. After the whole debacle the day before, he had thought that his chances of reconciling with the guy was ruined, but now another chance had been presented in front of him. This was a good thing, he thought. One step closer to his brother-in-law!

But of course, he did not dare to say the last part out loud. Hyuk might kill him, after all.

In Guk picked up the frisbee again, throwing it to Hyuk. "Come on~"

Hyuk was instantly enraged. Which part of 'go away' didn't this guy understand?!

"I told you to f*ck off!" He took the frisbee with a face that said he was going to butcher them.

"Go!" In Guk, finally noticing the danger, immediately took off. Jin Goo was already several meters away from them. "Wha—that's so unfair! Jin Goo-ya, wait for me!"

Hyuk chased after them with the frisbee, throwing it like a volatile weapon.

And just like that, Hyuk was successfully invited into an aggressive and intense game of frisbee tag.

Chinese New Year is coming soon so I’ll try to stock up some chapters for a mass release~
