Skill, Mastery, and Traits

On our way to Kana's house, I read the manual that the principal gave us all. It was like a box full of information and I can't take all of it at once. I read about 10 pages full of words and it feels like terms and conditions to some fishy online company. I try to read to it all but after I saw that I was only about 10% done I gave up and decided to finish reading it on my weekend. And I have my dad coming home tomorrow so he can help me to eat all of this information. For all, I know he knows a lot more than I think he knows. I think his text this morning is correlated to the experiment and he said something that good or bad one ability is depending on how the user uses the character may be the clue.

All I get from reading 10% of the manual was that each of us is unique and even if we get the same job doesn't mean we get the same trait or skills. Mastery can only be acquired if you reach 100% comprehension with a skill and then you can spend mastery point on it and that said skill would change into a mastery and you have 1 empty skill slot to choose another skill. Traits and Mastery can evolve with certain conditions that different for each skill and mastery. You can also gain traits as the times goes on or if you met certain conditions that would trigger it. Bear in mind that there are positive and negative traits so if you are unlucky there is a chance that you would get a negative one.

Things usually evolve to fit the user more so each evolves are uniques. So for example when there are peoples with the same fire manipulation skill but 1 guy specializes it to make a fireball while the other specializes in covering their hand and use it in melee. When you reach 100% comprehension with said skill and use mastery point on it. One of them would evolve lean towards concentrate effect and the other would evolve lean towards range and stuff. After all of that reading, I decided to check all of our skills and traits before we reach home.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. A priest without any MP and not capable of healing, Necromancer who can only summon 1 skeleton, and a skilless monk who can't wield any weapon. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

"Hey, this is not funny you know. And you aren't the best either what can you do when you facing an enemy. Sing a song for them?" Alice puffs her cheeks at me.

James smile wryly while he drives and said

"So I can summon 1 skeleton but it would be stronger compared to a skeleton that other people summoned. I guess that's a good thing, right??"

"Not really. If there is someone that specializes in summoning a strong skeleton maybe yours would lose but yeah you got a head start in that department. Well, at least you got your path figured out you just need to fight quantity with quality. And comprehends how to make your skeleton stronger"

"You have to explain it to me how does all of this works later after you finish read that manual. I just can't understand it. The way that the manual told us is so back and forth and I just can't focus. And how do you gain a skill? We have some empty skill slots and you said we can choose a skill to learn, right?" Kana tried to read the manual along with me but gave up only after the first pages.

"Wait let me read it again on how to choose a skill," I said while skimming the manual again.

"It said here that we can choose our skills just by clicking the empty slots and a new window would pop up. In that window, there are a bunch of skills that are compatible with you. Some skills would have some requirements like some stats so you would have to be compatible but also fulfill the requirements. So I guess we would have a different option want me to help you pick your skill?"

"Hey hey hey, help me pick first, help me pick first" Alice cut me short

- Steel Body (vit 8, end 12)

- Close Quarter Combat Technique (dex 10, str 10, end 10)

- Qigong Mastery (int 21, 15 str )

- Dharma Sutra (int 14, wiz 9)

- Kick Mastery (str 10, agi 15)

- Punch Mastery (str 15, agi 10)

- Emerald Skin, Topaz Muscle, Saphire Bone (VERY RARE) (str 7, vit 6, end 7, agi 6)

"What the hell are Dharma Sutra, Qigong Mastery, and this very rare skill? Is there rarity in terms of skill? Are rare skills good? Why are there no descriptions about the skills and how do they work?"

"Calm down there let dissect the information 1 by 1."

"First if we're playing a character in RPG games the rarer one skill is the better that skill is. Possessing a rare skill usually make you super strong so I assume that it was a good thing. But the low requirements make it suspicious for me. If I have to guess it was the kind of skill that easy to learn but hard to master."

"Second, from the manual, we know that skills are meant to comprehend and then it would transform into mastery. So far, all of the skill that we possess has no description whatsoever. If we assume there are no description of the skills is because the description is depending on how you comprehend your skills than it would all make sense. For example, James, your the summon skeleton skill only give you a method and knowledge to summon skeleton right? Did you know how to summon multiple skeletons?"

"Yep, it only told me how to summon skeleton and yes I know how to summon multiple skeletons. But I have use of it as I have that superior summon trait. If I summon a second skeleton than the first one would die right away."

"If my guess was right then it should be like this. Let assume that I have the same skeleton skill. But because of James's trait he can only summon 1 strong skeleton meanwhile, I can summon 5 or even 10 skeleton depends on how I use the skill. So skill description would be useless as a description for each person would be different depending on how you use your skills. So when you pick a skill you only gain knowledge about it and later you will learn it by yourself. So we're basically blind picking a skill that we hope would be a useful skill for us."

"Well, we're already in Kana's house, Mr. Holmes. So we better get inside before you continue your analysis."

"Al, are you going to come inside? Aren't you guys suppose to go straight home to help your mother prepare stuff for tomorrow?"

"Well, I'll help you pick your skill first and go home after that I guess. It wouldn't take too long and I can learn more about the experiment."

We were greeted by her mother with a concerned look when we walk toward Kana's house. I guess she must have learned about the experiment and want to know about the result. But looking at how she can hold herself and not drag Kana and barrage her with questions in front of our eyes she has to know about the experiment longer than we know.
