meet

"So..." he tried to be the one to start a conversation, but even now he still wasn't very good at it. For a time, he got better at talking to people in Drasas, but he'd only been there for so long before he left to travel again. And even while he traveled in a group it wasn't the best place to practice his conversational skills, especially considering the line-up. Two assassins, a shut in and a train, the fleeting moments of conversation between training and hunting they had together were less than a fraction of the day.

The only ones he conversed with all the time was Panda and Myra, but that was because they always trained and hunted together.

"Hi" His awkward opening faltering was then followed up by an even more awkward start. What was he supposed to do with his hands!? he thought as he waved it at them while saying the word, even though he was right in front of them.

Faris raised her hand in response bringing it up to her chin. "Hi....?"

Zhao Wei's eyes twitched as his brain went into overdrive to find the words to say. "So..." after achieving a response, he was back to step 1 wondering about step 2."

Finally Faris's intuition picked up on his nervousness and she relaxed a little. "My name is Faris, this is Ode, Howel and Bertin."

"It's nice to meet you, my name is Zhao Wei." He replied formally.

"First of all, I would like to thank you for the care you've shown us." Faris pointed at her companion's bandaged injuries.

"It's no problem, I think we should help others when we can, then they would hopefully treat others as well with the same kindness, only then would we live in a world where there can at the very least be a little peace." Zhao Wei smiled warmly, though he looked a little messy with his hair and beard, his eyes shined with clarity as he spoke those words, almost drawing her in in an instant.

"I hope you don't mind me asking Mr. Zhao Wei." Ode came in, "Are you one of the neo humans?"

"I'm sorry?" He responded questioningly, 'neo' humans?

"I don't mean to be rude, and I wouldn't put it against you if you were? in the first place, any group could have good and bad people... and seeing how you're friendly with the beast-men you're probably one of the good ones." Ode answered.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Zhao Wei explained.

"Oh.... uh..." Ode was caught of guard, seeing how powerful the members were, he assumed they were part of a bigger power, only after some discussion did he find that they'd just come out from some of the most isolated places in the world.

While they were separated from others, some were actually became impromptu neighbors from day one. And from the looks of it, that didn't end well. This group came from a split of the kingdom of Tithor. By some luck they were shifted with a town consisting mostly of radicals from his own world who also used the 'neo' moniker.

The shadow screen depicting his status made them assume his affiliation with said group. Their interactions could be said to be less than amicable. At first, the situation was pretty even. Though they owned some guns, the other world's humans generally had a stronger capability with their chi and mana trainings. And the other group had few options in terms of growth since their guns were just barely useful in killing the weaker beasts when the bullets actually met their targets.

But at some point, they received support from somewhere and were able to bring larger weapons, which from what Zhao Wei heard about their description were probably grenades and mortars. From there they were able to continually kill more of the weaker beasts and slowly, their strength grew.

It was gradual, but that group had started becoming brave enough to look for trouble with the people from the other world as their physiques got stronger and their weapons of mass destruction easily matched the mages with their ease and rapid load.

After giving their stories they all left to join the others outside, leaving him in the cabin alone. With hands supporting his body on the counter, he watched everyone gather outside to get to know each other.

There was a few things he actually absorbed from their discussion. There was a possibility for him to meet people of his own world right now. The downside to it, was that from what he heard, he wasn't sure he wanted to meet them.
