Forbidden Section of the Pocket Dimension of the Dead

Priya and Hendrix followed Mr. Regillus through more corridors and pathways, passing many classrooms, club rooms, and other miscellaneous places. Additionally, torches hanging from the ceiling lit the hallway.

"I wish you both luck in your trial, and hopefully, you live to tell the tale." Mr. Regillus stated while continuing to walk.

"What kind of varmints exist in this pocket dimension of the dead?" Hendrix asked.

"Well, the creatures are different in the forbidden section, and to tell you the truth, we don't know. The last person to return alive was ten millennia ago." Mr. Regillus explained while crossing his arms.

"Now I see why it's called the forbidden section. No information about it is recorded." Priya stated before rubbing Hendrix's back.

"Yes, and there are multiple forbidden sections. However, the others have no visitors because their danger is too great." Mr. Regillus clarified.

"Has anyone returned alive from them?" Priya asked.

"The only time people interact with those other forbidden sections is to throw corpses inside. Otherwise, they are abandoned." Mr. Regillus stated.

"Can't more powerful people enter these to clear them out?" Hendrix questioned.

"No, they can't. Only those around the same stage can enter. In the case of your trial, only those in the tutorial stage can enter. No one else can." Mr. Regillus explained.

"What benefits does the class of madness have?" Priya asked.

"They have the same benefits as Class S, but they get extra privileges like a malleable schedule, a private villa, and a seventy-five percent discount on all items that require academy credits to buy. However, you have to complete a trial before buying any costly items. Not even class X has these privileges. They only get a five percent discount and still have to live in dorms." Mr. Regillus explained.

"Why does the class of madness get so much?" Hendrix asked while his eyes widened.

"Because they earned it, and this class is mostly ceremonial since almost no one makes it here. The requirements are abominable, and you'll experience why when you enter." Mr. Regillus stated before looking ahead and seeing a large opening.

Within the cracked stone opening lay twenty-one different seemingly broken pyramids. At their tops, a turquoise crystal lay motionless.

There also was a rack of different weapons on the side.

Mr. Regillus smiled and pointed his hand at the first crystal, and pure mana left his hand and headed towards it, and after it entered the crystal, it began to glow.

"The portal will open soon, and you both can enter. After three days, you'll automatically be teleported out. And know no one can save you if you're going to die, so be careful." Mr. Regillus warned.

Priya and Hendrix both nodded and waited patiently. After about a minute, a spacial rift opened up in front of the pyramid, and it expanded until it became a deep gold portal. Additionally, bone-chilling air flowed out of it seemingly unimpeded.

"Now go grab a weapon, and uh, I'll grab some coats for you both. Uh, wait here." Mr. Regillus suggested before running out of the room.

"It seems this trial will be very cold." Hendrix stated.

"Either way, we will make it. Maybe we should try leveling up as well." Priya replied.

"Priya, I want to pick a small knife." Hendrix whispered while trying to get out of her embrace.

"Why? You don't need them." Priya countered.

"I'm going to choose one so I can avoid suspicion. After all, the teachers will wonder how I survived without one." Hendrix whispered.

"Oh, okay, but you don't have your cane. So can I carry you there?" Priya replied, trying to keep Hendrix in her arms.

"Not for this. I'll probably need to walk alone throughout this trial." Hendrix responded while shaking his head.

Priya sighed and put Hendrix down, and walked to the weapon rack to see what one she wanted. And Hendrix walked beside her and picked up a small knife once he reached the rack.

Meanwhile, Priya surveyed all the available weapons and chose a sword before smiling. Afterward, the two waited thirty minutes before Mr. Regillus returned with two oversized coats.

"Here are the coats, you two. However, it's gigantic for you, Hendrix." Mr. Regillus stated while handing the coats to them.

"Thank you for these." Hendrix civilly replied.

"You're welcome. Now enter the portal." Mr. Regillus instructed while pointing to the deep gold portal.

Hendrix and Priya nodded and walked to and through the portal, disappearing into it.

"Good luck, you two." Mr. Regillus stated before pointing his hand toward the crystal again, and it stopped glowing, and the portal closed.

[You have arrived in the Cryogenic Pocket Dimension of the Dead(Forbidden)]

Hendrix opened his eyes, and when he looked up at the sky, there was strangely no sun or stars. However, a fractured moon shone faint light onto the surroundings. Additionally, soft but wispy Fuchsia clouds floated in the sky as an eerie breeze whistled across the landscape.

When he looked down at the ground, it seemed like a mix of ice, rock, and snow. However, the ice had different colors, some burgundy, some blue, and some violet, creating a unique surface.

The area had ice-covered, necrotic trees dotting the premise, seemingly frozen at the time of their deaths. Their leaves appear to be frozen solid.

He turned around and saw many creatures seemingly frozen in an icy lake, perfectly preserved. They looked eerily like the extinct radiodont Anomalocaris and Trilobites.

"This place is quite creepy." Hendrix whispered as he shivered in his coat and held the knife in his left hand.

"Your right, Hendrix, it's terrifying." Priya replied while holding her sword and wearing her coat.

The group of Anomalocaris started to twitch after what Hendrix and Priya said despite being frozen. Additionally, the two rows of fins on their sides began to move as if they were alive. Subsequently, the two tentacles on their faces moved left and right.

As this occurred, Hendrix's expression became ghastly as he saw this and backed away.

"Let's leave this place. Although we can't permanently die, I don't want to experience my body being destroyed again." Hendrix stated.

"I agree, besides I don't want you hurt anyway. Let's go." Priya stated while picking up Hendrix carefully and running away. However, Hendrix's knife fell.

"Wait, I dropped my knife!" Hendrix yelled.

"We must leave just in case they can somehow follow us." Priya retorted before continuing to run.
