Chapter 24

Luna went home after her "meeting" and immediately fell asleep on her bed the second she lays on it.

Sunday

Luna woke up on her own. She was still wearing her clothes from yesterday and her make-up got messed up on her face. as she woke up, she just stared at her ceiling. "That's odd, usually someone would knock on my door and wake me up," she thought. Just as she was about to sit up, someone knocked on her door. "I spoke too soon", she thought. "come in," she said as she sits up. her door opened and revealed her father peeking in. "oh. I didn't expect you to be up earlier than usual" he said. Luna shrugged and stood up. "I'll be downstairs in a few minutes. I just need to take a shower" Luna said as she was about to enter her bathroom. "about that. I came by to tell you that I'm going out today and I'm leaving right now. Will it be okay for you to stay here on your own?" her father asked. "I'm not a kid anymore, you can leave me alone here without telling me. I'll be fine" Luna answered. Her father nodded and walked out, closing the door behind him. "so, you have the house for yourself?" Adrien said through her earpiece. Luna hummed as she picks up her purse from yesterday and fished out the cloth that has the little pins from yesterday. She walked out of her room with the cloth in her hand and walked downstairs. She saw a maid cleaning the living room and walked towards her. she tapped her shoulder and handed out the cloth. She mouthed "burn it" as the maid looked at her. the maid nodded and took the cloth from Luna's hand. Luna then walked back to her room and locked her door. "sorry for not speaking back there. I needed to get rid of the pins from yesterday before speaking" Luna explained, knowing that Adrien is listening, "oh, okay. Well, I'll be heading to the headquarters in a few minutes" he said. "okay. I'll be taking a shower, drive safe" Luna responded, walking into her bathroom. "I will. I love you" Adrien said. "I love you too" Luna answered with a sad smile as she misses him once more.

After taking a shower, Luna went to the kitchen to look for something to eat. "Hello madam, would you like me to cook you something to eat?" a maid asked as she saw Luna looking in the fridge. Luna stood up properly when she heard the maid's voice and looked at her blankly before speaking. "okay, first, stop calling me madam. Second, treat me casually. I am a friend, not some princess" Luna said as she closes the fridge's door. "and no, I don't want home-cooked food. I'll be heading out to get some food from McDonald's" she added. The maid smiled and nodded before walking out of the kitchen.

Luna went back to her room to get Adrien's hoodie and wore it. she then went downstairs and asked one of the maids for the key for the other car, which the maid gave it to her. "Love?" Luna called as she starts to drive her way to Mcdonald's near the headquarters. "yeah?" Adrien responded. "meet me at Mcdonald's," she said. "wait. Like, the one near the headquarters?" Adrien asked. "yes," Luna said sternly. "alright. Are you on your way?" Adrien asked. "yes" Luna answered. "but what about your parents? Isn't your mother going back home today?" Adrien asked for he was concerned for her. "I don't care. All I need right now is you. So, get your ass in Mcdonald's, or else I'm dragging your ass there from the headquarters" Luna said with a bit of a tease. "Okay ma'am" Adrien responded with a smile plastered on his face.

After about an hour, Luna arrived at the place and quickly parked the car in front of the fast-food restaurant. She walked out of the car and immediately saw Adrien waiting by the entrance. Not caring about who will see her, she ran towards him and hugged him tightly. Adrien hugged her back, twice as tight as hers, and snuggled into the crook of her neck. "God, I have missed you so fucking much" Luna emphasized. "I missed you too, cupcake" Adrien softly said. Luna broke the hug and pulled his face to give him a longing kiss. Of course, Adrien kissed back as he places his hand behind her neck to deepen the kiss a little. after a few seconds, they both broke off the kiss and leaned on each other's forehead. "You really don't care if anyone sees you here huh?" Adrien teased with a smile. Luna smiled as well and nodded. "Let's get inside, I'll treat you breakfast," Adrien said and held her hand as they entered the restaurant.

"I thought that it doesn't really matter whether or not someone sees me here. One, if anyone that knows my mother sees me here with you, it's alright. I can tell them that you're a friend of mine. They don't know that you're an agent. They don't even know that I'm an agent. Second, I doubt that there's anyone here who knows my parents since it's too near the headquarters. If anyone sees us here, they are most likely Ace's close friends or agents" Luna explained as they eat their breakfast. "you do have a point. What are you going to tell your parents if they find out that you went out without their permission?" Adrien asked. "I'll tell them that I went to Mcdonald's because I craved for it" Luna answered, making Adrien chuckle.

Luna and Adrien talked until their meals were finished. Adrien then walked her out of the restaurant and towards her car. "for some reason, I just noticed it right now that you're wearing the hoodie I sent you" Adrien pointed out as he placed his hands on Luna's waist to pull her closer to him. "what can I say, I just missed having you near me. and since this hoodie smells just like you, I always wear it now" Luna said with a smile. "why are you so damn cute. What happened to the intimidating Luna that I know?" he teased as he leaned his face closer to hers. "I'm still me but this soft side is for you and only for you" she responded and leaned closer as well, Adrien chuckled and kissed her. "I'll see you soon again," Luna said after breaking the kiss. Adrien cupped her face and kissed her forehead before answering. "Soon, cupcake. Soon" he said before letting go of her and waved goodbye. Luna went in the car and looked at Adrien one last time before driving away.

Once Luna arrived back home, both her mother and father were waiting in the living room. "and where have you been, young lady?" her mother asked sternly. "I went to Mcdonald's because I craved for some Mcnuggets. Got a problem with that?" Luna answered sarcastically. Her mother stood up from the couch and walked towards her. "you're bold for answering me in that tone" her mother said. "again, do you have a problem with that?" Luna said, crossing her arms. Her mother suddenly slapped her. "you do not speak to me like that!" she yelled. For Luna, the slap was nothing. So, she fixed her posture and just looked at her mother straight in the eyes, one eyebrow raised. Luna was about to speak when her mother beats her to it. "after killing my best group so far, this is how you'll treat me?!" she exclaimed. Luna got caught off guard, but she didn't show it. instead, she took a deep breath and spoke. "and what are you going to do about it? you can't possibly bring them to life, now can you?" Luna said. "how did you even know how to kill them so easily?" her mother asked, trying to look for her weakness. But unfortunate for her, Luna showed no weakness. Luna confidently walked closer to her mother, making her mother walk backward. "why? Are you afraid that I'll kill you next if you do one wrong move?" Luna asked boldly. Not caring at this point whether her mother will find out her identity or not. Her mother gulped and started to tremble. "Luna, that's enough" her father defended when he noticed his wife trembling. "remember this; you can never be better than I am," Luna told her mother, completely ignoring her father. Her mother huffed out an irritated breath and walked away, leaving Luna and her father. "I told you not to make a move," her father said, making sure that Mary won't hear. Luna looked at him coldly and raised a brow. "and you are not the boss of me. don't ruin this relationship between us, John, not again" Luna simply said and walked out the living room and into her room.
