yo! thanks for the explanation! just want to say, having read a wee bit further, to where he is exploring that cursed dungeon, I understand how he was found, as somehow despite being an ancient artifact Moody's eye is able to see through it. wish there was an explanation as to why Moody's eye can do that other than a Tod Howard classic, "it just works!" Anyways thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. The story is very interesting, and I look forward to seeing where you take it in the future.
First of all, why is this just a rare item? Secondly, how did the rune on the bear manage to get a ping off of him when he has this? The cloak iirc is supposed to ignore magic targeting it and its wearer. if he had been found via the bear's sense of hearing or smell that is one thing, but it is stated in cannon that Harry's cloak is the only true invisibility cloak, making the one wearing it completely invisible to the point (according to the story of it and it's sibling artifacts' creation) that even death cannot find them. So either the objects drawn from the gacha are not the cannon version, or the MC is just letting it rot in his inventory. I apologize for the nitpicking, it's just that most of the other things seem to match their Canon version, and as someone who grew up listening to the HP stories every night, it rubbed me the wrong way seeing the ONE object other than his wand that Harry is known to use in EVERY book of the series seemingly get butchered in implementation. Had it been a more obscure object from the story like the vanishing cabinet I would understand, but Harry's invisibility cloak is such a well known item that a Google search would tell you all you need to know about it, it renders both his camouflage and the other cloak obsolete in terms of stealth capabilities. I like the story so far and this is in no way me saying the author is terrible, just me being a picky gezer because I apparently seem to possess "elite ball knowledge" as the youth say.
My woes are already many, tell the dang reaper to hurry their ass up. /j
