?...but if there's a schedule within one of the chapters, plus I said that I'm currently working on finishing my Basil story, so the extra days I usually spent on this story, I'm now spending on the Basil story. That means Monday through Thursday is just Basil, Friday is a day off, and Saturday and Sunday are for this story.

The direct effects of the famine benefited Karl. If he had abundant food while everyone else had to ration it, that would legitimize his form of government and open the door to instability in other countries, which he could encourage to bring down regimes. He could line his pockets by selling food, since everything he could have sold by sounding the alarm about the drought, such as fertilizers and machinery, could be sold the following year, when everyone would be desperate to strengthen their agricultural systems. Some countries did find out, but they lacked the means to mitigate the effects. Britain was suffering from a postwar economic depression and a rebellion in Ireland. France had a third of its land littered with unexploded ordnance or chemically contaminated, with no budget to try to save its agriculture or acquire large numbers of water pumps and conduct surveys to locate groundwater. Germany was investing in agriculture but was still recovering from a political crisis and the mistakes made by the military administration in managing its economy. Russia was dealing with civil war, wars of reconquest, and loan repayments. Most countries only began to realize what was happening during the sowing season. The lack of rainfall and falling river levels were what finally raised the alarm, and the only countries prepared were the Baltic Duchy, Ruthenia, and Ukraine.

The reliable source is the American, since the United States came close to the actual casualty figures, with the death toll reaching only one million. 2-Aside from Karl’s book, there are the Viking leader’s own experiences. For a long time, he protected the churches as a Freikorps, but they did not reciprocate his support, since they wanted to remain neutral in the social struggle, even though there were groups inciting attacks against them. These chapters are for and about the people who sometimes don't know what's happening in MC's world. Much of the story now won't involve direct confrontation, but rather politics and behind-the-scenes struggles. I want to explore how MC changed the world and his plans to win the war in the future by weakening his enemy and kingdom building. For example, this one and the next one are because people wanted to know what’s happening in Russia, but not through a report, rather what’s going on internally. It wouldn’t be realistic for MC to know everything from a report; it could have happened during the civil war because it was easier to have people who were undecided about which side to join and would sell information. Now that the war is over, that’s no longer possible. And the other example would be France, since in history it was left in ruins, and no one knows more than I do in my mind,and people who can imagine what’s happening there.
