Not really. I don’t see any reason to keep updating this. Every time I try to update it, the story only gets around 3 stones. I think it’s just a waste of time when, in the end, my other fics have more readers who actually need updates. And don’t think of me as omniscient. If no one comments or sends stones, I can only assume that no one is reading it. I don’t have any obligation to continue dead stories unless I’m genuinely in the mood to work on them again.

Yeah, it does. This is common in the Webnovel and literature world. After all, not everyone can finish what they're reading. Most people drop a book midway without finishing it. Most of the time, it's not because of discomfort. Humans generally aren't that fragile; they don't drop an entire book just because of a slight annoyance or discomfort. Sure, some people might, but they were probably never going to be your readers anyway. If a minor annoyance is enough to make them quit, then don't pay too much attention to them. Just ignore it and write what you want to write. Most people drop a book because they feel disconnected from it. They forget what they were reading, lose track of the story, become confused, and don't feel motivated enough to reread previous chapters. At that point, the time and effort required to get back into the story no longer feel worth it to them.

I believe you dropped because I haven't been very active or consistent about updating. If you can endure up to chapter 15, then you can basically endure more. But you can't, because I disappeared without explaining why. Moreover, I deliberately made it that way. Whether you realize it or not, writing very extreme things attracts very high-quality readers. The judgmental ones, the kids, and most casual users who only know how to be ungrateful will leave on their own. You don't need to do it for every chapter. One chapter is enough to kick them out and keep all the ride-or-die kind of readers. It may not work for you, but it works just fine for me.

Maybe when I want to feel high or thrill, I'll post regularly again. Let's be real that's always been my purpose when I update consistently.

When I said burnout is manageable, I was confident when I asserted it. Burnout was no longer an impossible problem like it was for the past me. I just don’t have a deep goal or strong motivation that makes me care enough to stay consistent.
