Threshold Protocol

HAS BEEN DROPPED. WILL NOT BE COMPLETED. The sky cracks open at 3:14 p.m., and the world gets a patch note it never asked for. Mira Voss is thirty-something, unglamorous, and mid-argument with a vending machine when the System activates downloading stat panels, health bars, and class trees into every mind on Earth, and unleashing monsters stitched together from the wreckage of ordinary buildings and ordinary people. Most survivors get handed a safe, standard class. Mira gets offered Arbiter: a volatile, high-risk path where her damage scales with a target's guilt, and where she can now see hostile intent hanging over every living thing like a verdict waiting to be read. With her reluctant coworker Julian, the quiet IT guy who somehow knows more about the rules of this new world than he should Mira has to survive the System's first, deadliest filter: the opening hour, when the weak get weeded out and the world decides who's worth keeping. But the deeper she goes, the more she suspects the System isn't just testing survivors. It's sentencing them.
