lol if it’s nearly unprecedented to declare not guilty then clearly the court system doesn’t function objectively.
Interesting idea. Not executed well. Also super nationalist — characterizing all other countries people as immoral, incompetent and arrogant. Anything benefiting their country is good for the world while anything benefiting anyone from other countries is a great evil for the world. I typically have a high tolerance for nationalism but at many points in this novel even I find it too absurd. MC is super stingy with others unless they are his people. Everyone’s only real desire is food and for some 1 hobby so characters feel a little too flat. Also author dropped it before completion.
author logic doesn’t seem to make sense. UV flashlight should be much stronger UV than sunlight unless it somehow isn’t the right wavelength.
Haha. Yes, exactly! I made it to chapter 1283 on pure stubbornness but your review still holds true!
The author has mastered writing words that are pleasing to read but hasn’t figured out where the story is going. This story goes on forever a really slow slice of life like pace. It’s decently enjoyable and relaxing but with random chapters focused on pointless side character criminals. Maybe just skip those! Eventually you’ll realize the story is lying to you about going anywhere anytime soon and then if you care about that you might just drop it.
P.S. A better version of this novel with the same theme (but the MC has stronger cheats) is: My Community Transmigrated Again by I Have 7 Cats.
The beginning is a bit thorny and introduces too many complexities at once. However, once you’ve adapted to the details, the story is an entertaining read. I found the combo of cyberpunk and evolving occultic zombie apocalypse refreshing. The pacing is great leaving rarely a dull moment. The translation is perhaps too faithful to the original wording thus a tad rough — not enough to trip up fluent readers but slightly noticeable if you stop to think about redundant structure. The MC gets a supernaturally strong learning ability and resistance to mind manipulation as a freebie with his profession and dimensional door. He’s set up to become a legend along with a few others. Regardless it is a highly entertaining read worth a shot if you can brace through the beginning’s deep dive.
Writing isn’t up to snuff. It’s too passive with too much direct direct exposition. There’s not enough hinting of a future. It seems like a lot of dull reactions to x scenario. MC’s hints have him avoiding all the danger not engaging with it. Little is laid out to spark interest in what will happen next.
Yes, limit the growth of skills in your people for such a stupid reason and without a well-thought-out system as though you don’t already have their lives in the palm of your hands— as though you need more places where corrupt officials can suppress others on a whim. A reward for contributions is enough strict restrictions stifle growth unnecessarily.
I’m a sucker for this genre. I found it pretty interesting. In some “rules” the author should have done more research into how reality works. Some real-life possible events being unrealistic was the main issue I had with the book. Also MC was a bit too stubborn and boring sometimes.
