I don’t know what to think so far. The opening is a bit tropey, transmigrating to a palace period drama is… reliable. Live Streaming to some kind of audience ? Eh. Gender subversion, using Sherlock Homes /Mentalist levels of logic and reasoning far beyond normal/Period experiences ? Eh. How bad is the future in which you recognise the signs of eating a family pet? I can ignore the obvious FMC fantastic pandering here, as it serves the purpose of being “awesome girl boss”. Does it work if it’s off-the-wall ridiculous ? It always is ridiculous, every single time. parody and subversion are equally used to dilute the “girl boss” trope, because it doesn’t make sense. The palace drama genre has too many conventions and internal conflicts that don’t fit with modern values, so there is always that tension and mild parody of having a ‘modern’ woman in a feudal, patriarchal clan and society. Making fun of the genre and the premise, contradictions and contrivances, yeah. It doesn’t add or detract. It’s the prologue. Usually these personality traits fall into the bin once the FMC finds their Disguised Prince and either becomes a “disciple” to become an independent woman, martial arts master, finds a conspiracy and gains rank, etc. This has potential. Time will tell if they ruin it by straying into parody or romance or subversion without also changing the world and the characters, or use the cheap gimmick of the livestream benefits to create plot twists
