I had fun reading your story all throughout. Although I am not really the type to read stories whose authors use present tense verbs or the story takes place at present, it doesn't really make me feel that awkward to read the story. Good job on that one.

Thanks! I make sure to read the chapters before posting and then rereading out loud so it sounds right and flows. I felt telling the story present tense allows the reader to feel more involved in the scene.
