While the story itself is decent I barely consider this a MHA fanfic. Story is based in the US so everyone is OC. The only thing it has in common with the original story so far is quirks and their was a mention of I-Island.

I mean, it's based off of the MHA setting, lore and rules to the powers. I just thought it'd be boring to focus on only Japan like the thousand other fanfics. Sure, I might be able to do something original there too but there's more to the MHA world to explore that the main series itself never will, and to me that's what fanfics are all about. Obviously I'm not trying to forcefully change your opinion, just kinda explaining the process behind it.
