Yes, I agree its broken, but have you noticed yet that he only uses his magic to protect his girls. Other than that, he uses mostly mundane arts like speed, strength and his sword fighting. I give you a hint for later chapters, he gives some of his own powers to his girls for their protection and make the team all rounded one.

Not a lot of fanfics that I have read that have Edythe or Jessamine in them, but the ones I did read, the MC met at a college and in that one it had described both girls. That might be the one you might have remembered. I took those descriptions from that fanfic. Also, some fight scenes from others that didn't make sense like werewolves in Solo Leveling.
