Yeah. That was the exact message I was hoping to pass across. Even the winners lose and the losers win. Or else, the war would just be a gimmick written just for the sake of the story and we don't want that. My only question is, was the earlier chapters, the build up, worth it? I need the feedback to add to my notes to help in crafting a better story. Thank you in advance.

As much as I would like to reassure you or answer your questions, I can't. The main thing I'm trying to explore with this book is the idea of humans being humans. Humans will be stupid and emotional(like Maria keeping her fears of her death from her children in order to not hurt them), and humans would be rational and logical(like Abram Ross with almost everything.) This also means I get to explore a book in which not everything is as it seems. Not every plan will go smoothly. Not every major character will escape death. Even Ren himself will make mistakes. I only hope my story keeps pulling the interest of my readers. What I'm trying to say is that Ren won't always make decisions that you'll love. Not every aspect of the book will be the perfect image of a story you have in mind. But if you stick with this book long enough, I promise to execute it to the best of my ability.
