the new readers wouldn't understand the bond of the community during the time chapters were being actively released but this truly was the jujutsu which the readers kaisened upon

he was able to control the pace of the battle against madara by completely overwhelming him with raw power and also madara at that time was one of the strongest beings in the verse(much much much more stronger than S rank) while Fujin described these guys as barely S ranked. And even if you use that excuse of Guy's physique not being strong enough, he never really received any major power ups between now and the 4th great war (~3 yrs) so that means he only relied on his training which he had already been doing for DECADES

8 gates Guy almost won against Madara who was in sage of six paths mode with his rinnengan so if he opened the 7th gate, he could definitely take on multiple S ninjas who are barely S rank (not to mention that while Guy is an elite jounin or somewhere near S rank, his father was just a genin and was able to take on all the seven swordsmen of the mist (which were probably all S rank) using the 8 inner gates)
