Alright here is one. That’s just what I’m hoping will happen though. Sunny still has the mirror of truth right? Although he used it on the Island he didn’t in the final loop so he still has it as well as the shadow fragment. He also has the estuary key which is important later. When he used the mirror I thought that my theory was wrong but now it is possible again. But this whole loop thing with the river changes a lot of things and somehow none at all. We never knew where the estuary actually was and now we are even more confused. Anyways my theory is that in order to beat the nightmare they will not only have to beat the rest of the plagues but will also have to go to the estuary. It could also be that it is the only exit so after defeating their future selfs and the first keeper they will have to leave through it. Sunny holds the estuary key that was somehow given to him by the Mad Price through the Sin of Solace. And since it is made from his shadow essence he is probably the only one who can activate the hidden enchantments. He will have to use the mirror of truth on Neph to copy her Longing ability that makes immune to corruption and will then proceed to go to the source of the estuary to open the hypothetical exit. He is now unable to get corrupted but the truth that Ariel his there is still real so he could learn of it without getting defiled but is now burdened by this heavy truth so after they somehow leave while Sunny unconscious or something like that there will be the “poor Sunny” arc where he may be in a coma or completely mad and like babbling gibberish while Nephis is taking care of him. And that would make for the perfect bonding time because Neph learns how important Sunny is to her and after Sunny gets better he learns who took care of him and things lead to the long awaited confession. Like I said, I‘m hoping this will happen in a similar way to this. In addition, he might also meet Oblivion instead of the “Truth“ at the estuary or he is the truth. I don’t know.
