I think he did that because he knew he can't win against him at all, I mean how many time he had already tried the scenario to take it forcefully, in ben 10 original he was like a arrogant self centered, but in alien force he got lot more intelligent and didn't look down upon ben and considered him a real threat tbh that he join hands with albedo to take it. (just me)

he can gain new aliens.

why would he waste time on that, his first choice will be to cause destruction so that ben can come to him, so that he can get the omnitrix.

not yet, but he can stay in an alien form for longer than usual depending on the situation, but the longer he stays in it the longer it will take time to recharge but that too also depends on the situation he is in.

guess! he is ten years old. he doesn't even know what is romance truly, he isn't interested in anything other than being a hero, playing games and helping people. actually there isn't even romance in the story much less a harem.
