This is so fucking devious, I love it. He had no grudge or anything, but stepped up anyway.
Love the story btw mr author 💋💋💋
I think system being there, doing what it does the way it does, is just red herring distracting from something bigger. I can see them teaming up against something bigger during second low point or smth.
Aight, I have a couple thoughts and would love to hear y'all opinions on those. The tree girl didn't recognize what Alex nor knows much of anything about stuff he mentioned, yet she knows excalibur, implying very close ties to it. She was also a sapling, which can also be found two chapters ago in Gardens of Avalon itself. Merlin mentioned possibility of returning the sword to the lady of the lake, which means it was probably hers and definitely stolen. I can only wonder if counterforce will do anything about it. The Caretaker looks like a caricature of a witch, which would fit the Everafter theme. She also used very familiar magic energy, meaning it's fron one of only two sources: Avalon or Everafter. For all we know, his excalibur might actuall be connected to the tree of Everafter same way it would be connected to the planet. If it wasn't Avalon's mana he recognized, it could have been Remnants/Everafter mana. Are they harvesting/corrupting Everafter. She also mentioned some generous "He", making it sound like they have a whole organization going on. Then there's the bearded guy from chapter 1 (which may have been written when this fic was a lot less serious) which mentioned a report on the MC that he definitely didn't write himself. He was reincarnated into RWBY instead of any other universe he actually knew about. The system he was given only gives him short term goals, ensuring it so he can't speedrun this entire thing or knowingly make his way into Everafter. It shows knowledge of RWBY's canon, but choses to focus on it's primary purpose it was made for. Local Being X also mentioned sending other people to different world's to be heroes in with stuff ensuring they have an easy life. Why would he do that for seemingly no gain? Unless their presence serves as a type of an anchor. It would explain why system would punish him with eternal damnation if MC didn't want to play by the rules. System itself - like the tree girl - seems to understand very little about humans, while also caring a lot about excalibur. Then there's the fact that it can affect fairy made divine construct as if it was natural to it. It had a very HUMAN flaw of a statement containing a double negative that it itself wasn't aware of, and it follows ideals of heroism Emiya himself would balk on, as if it's the only type of heroism it knew of. Then there's the fact that the entie thing takes place in the dimension of the damned. Even if in Remnant's purgatory, still closely enough to the root to connect to Gardens of Avalon. My guess is that they harvest energy from the souls of the damned, or sin to make a beast of sorts. They wouldn't be there specifically if there wasn't something important. The fact that system can just drop him there could imply that it is where it's main body is, another sapling perhaps? Then there's the time stop - one that would remind Alex how the relic of knowledge works had he knew about it. I can't wait for him to hijack a question or two from it, Jinn can see all afterall.
My guy, it's not "L" but an uppercase "i" in Iudex
She's in for a surprise when Ozpin starts talking
Konoha likely has spies in that village and holy shit, I really want to see Hiruzen talk to Fujin about this.
Chapter 9: "Renjiro chuckled and replied, "Only the Hokage and major clans can buy them. That's how rare they are. As for price, every piece of crystal costs millions of Ryo!" That's 7151 crystals, if one goes for 1 million Ryo MINIMUM (could easily be multiplied though), then that will be 7 151 000 000. If this shit doesn't start a war or something, then it might be due to his rage killing him on the spot.
