No. It felt like it was created just to mock the MC and all the hardwork and victories he’s had since he first started training. An unnecessary beatdown to bring him down to earth even though he wasn’t arrogant in the first place. Although educational (even though it was clearly forced and created to make the MC have a weakness since that’s not how Genjustu works in Naruto.), It still felt really irritating since it felt like Kensei was looking down on him. Overall, really unnecessary but meh, I’ll just take it as another of your useless forced plot.

But wasn’t Itachi a genuis? An exceptional specimen rarely seen? Why are you using that as a basis to give weaker, less talented individuals more chakra to do things they never could do? That’s like taking things from wherever you want and dumping it somewhere without caring for how insane it is and without providing any explanation.
