It's edited. It should be more discernible now. This dip in quality was caused by that time when I rushed to write this chapter (approx. a month ago). If y'all see anything like this, do let me know so that I can fix it.
I'll go and edit this chapter later to fix this confusion.
Basically, you own OP Characters, you use them to clear a stage, you bonk your enemies, and then they're defeated before you know it.
It's a term in Honkai: Star Rail in which the team you possess becomes strong enough to take up zero cycles and clear the stage. Meaning to say, you defeat your enemies fast enough before a turn "ends".
One of Types' strongest points are their concepts. It literally takes way too much to "defeat" them, much so "kill" them. We all saw that in the Lostbelt (against a nerfed ORT, atop all). Before we talk about fighting "Types", there should be a way for Aleph to satisfy that condition (having strong enough concepts to defeat it). It's something we'll see as the story progresses.
That's what we'll see later ;)
That, and would Aleph use it for himself? Or for others? In which manner? That's what we'll see in the later chapters.
You'll understand what these [Pathstrider Slots] truly mean when we get there ;) (Spoiler: It's not the Paths you think)
Aeons are the highest-leveled beings in HSR. You know the Cocoon? Yeah, it's sitting at the bottom tier amongst other Aeons. Adaptation worked in this fight, but it's not fully effective. Aleph isn't a "God" yet, which is why that happened. Being able to fight against an Emanator of IX (one of the strongest Aeons out there) as a "mortal" was a feat unheard of in the canon.
We'll see ;)
