Minor Nitpick but how else are you going to learn right, anyway the way you phrased it (His smile widened and kissed me again)makes it sounds like his smile is what kissed her this and the last tie and not him, so I would add the word he after the and so it reads, "his smile widened and HE kissed me again".

Because this is not a legit reason but some flimsy excuse that doesn't even work since no one asked for his life story. It would be different if he had to lie about his alter ego but there is little to no risk for him revealing it to her.

I just don't get why he feels he need to lie here, he can keep the old grandma stuff, but taking a potion so a young orphan can deal in more adult matters so he can improve his life is too hard to believe... yeah, like I said why can't he tell the truth to her?
