Yeah, it is kind of, but I figured it was the best way to set up the demon world war. That is coming pretty soon as well. They'll need to be able to stand up to the bad guys and Dante needs a sure source of Vibranium.
The seal was on its feet in seconds, limbs nearly double their former size. Green Vibranium scales covered areas it'd been formerly attacked.

Antarctica is apparently very dry despite all of the ice. I googled it. It has something to do with the lack of precipitation and way it works over there.
I was miles away from the epicenter of the reactor's explosion and deep into the snow desert that made Antarctica so dangerous. Lucky for me, we were in the summer, so I didn't have to worry about insanely low temperatures, but sudden wind storms, hidden services, hypothermia, and dehydration were still big concerns.

I went after with a controlled frenzy, dishing out punches, kicks, knees, elbows, all attempting to overwhelm her, but Colleen the swordswoman was vastly different from Colleen the martial artist. She kept her distance, checking my advances with precise strikes from her bokken, switching stances when she thought appropriate, and weathered my attacks with as much grace as her petite form could manage. She targeted weak spots, trying to drive me back, but each hit made her blade vibrate in her hand, nearly throwing her off her game.

Adamantium is made from Vibranium and other very specific metals. Getting the rest is practically child's play. Vibranium is the real sauce.
The boots that started this entire upgrade spree came out better than expected. They were just as powerful as Severance. I used more Vibranium than Adamantium because I wanted to keep the boots relatively light for all of the kicking I'd be doing, but that didn't stop me from bathing them in runes.

The way I created the characters are kinda linear. I wanted the strength to be relative to the speed. Dante at the current chapter has a stat of about 200 in all stats, and Rin has about 100. That translates to about 10x the stats of an average human for Rin and 20x for Dante. Point is they might not be conventionally strong, but their speed, flexibility, and just about everything else makes them more rounded. I mean Dante can probably reach Mach five with his new upgrades now, and that's nothing to sneeze at. Plus he has boosts, a Devil Trigger, and a bunch of other enhancements. Sure his raw strength his lack luster, but he's by no means weak.

This story follows his creeping descent into madness, as he betrays his religion, morals, and even his friends. A couple of things before we get into the story proper. This is my first swing at this, and I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous. I appreciate honest reviews and will always look forward to your constructive criticisms. I want to stress that our mc starts out pretty weak, and the system he gets doesn't make him op. He will become op eventually, but it will take time. And so will this novel.
