does he have valyrian steel? because the ironborn wear atleast chainmail at sea. if not better, and you arent gonna go through chainmail with anything other than a pike or a crows beak. regular swords arent rigid and thin enough to wedge through chainmail, and you cant cut through chainmail otherwise

just turn your system into a fortress world. defence satelites can be as strong as dreadnaughts and as cheap as a cruiser. additionally, you can regulate hyperspace traffic with gravity traps.
