brass is a much softer metal more prone to blowing up in your hand that way

I've never understood this if someone is waking you up obviously you need to get up or something's wrong. this trope has always been very annoying to me. I understand wanting to sleep more because if I don't have anything to do I'll go back to sleep but doing this is just fruitless.

the way I see it it's not sentient per say it's reactive it sees a potential threat and strikes like an animal to warm them away

i was on the verge of crying for about an hour reading the prologue. you certainly know how to get people invested in the characters. I commend you on that as much as I hate you for hurting my feelings that much.
