== first impressions as of 40 chapters == A military doctor wakes up to the body of Lu Jiao, fat woman who's married to a now crippled scholar of the Xie family and mother to four sons. She realizes that she's transmigrated into a novel character who mistreats her sons. It turns out the four sons and her husband, Xie Yunjiao, turns to be the villains of the story. They will come to kill Lu Jiao and to prevent her death, she decides to treat them well. However, before she can leave her husband and four kids, she promises to cure Xie Yunjiao and use the time to make them hate her less (so they won't kill her in the future) and create good relations with the villagers to benefit her family in the long run. Also, because she isn't the real Lu Jiao, she has no motive to treat them badly. Everyone in the village notices Lu Jiao acts different now, and Xie Yunjiao comes to conclusion that she isn't the real Lu Jiao. And now that Lu Jiao isn't abusing her sons, but showering them with food, the kids are slowly opening up to her. This one actually surprised me at how easy it was to dive into the story. The storytelling is slow and steady but it makes sense. The transmigrated Lu Jiao doesn't just come into their lives and make everyone change their opinion of her in a snap. Xie Yunjiao still dislikes Lu Jiao's face even if he knows the person occupying Lu Jiao isn't the real Lu Jiao. The fourth son finally called her "mom" with lots of affection within the last couple of chapters. The second and third son is warming up to calling her mom, while the first son is like their father who tries to be indifferent. One thing special aspect of Lu Jiao is her personal space that she can store things in and have special herbs and medicine. Apart from that, Lu Jiao uses her own wits and skills to do menial things like cook and gather food for her family. Then slowly building good relations to those that treat her well. I'm assuming we're going to see more cute interactions with the four kids and in time, Xie Yunjiao will be able to fall in love with her. Though this doesn't a romance tag, I think it'll be fun to read despite that. Because though it's plot driven, the characters have an underlying motive.

==impression as of 40 chapters== The story starts out with Jiang Tong, a female who has lived the same day for 500 years. Every day she would automatically fall asleep at 4am and wake up on April 4th at 7am. Using every means she can to get rid of this time loop (killing herself different ways), she decides to give up and entertain herself in different ways by learning new skills and conquering new men. Her latest task is Ji Lanzhou (male lead), the rich and sickly Ji family member. Though he’s skeptical of Jiang Tong, who reveals her story to him, Jiang Tong manages to sleep with Ji Lanzhou after 30,000 days (82 years) of pursuing him. As it turns out, Ji Lanzhou is the key to breaking the time loop. After their fun night, the two wake up to April 5th but with Jiang Tong’s enemies coming after her. She drops Ji Lanzhou at his place before turning to the Zhou family by using her intelligence information that she has acquired from all the rich and powerful people throughout her 500 years of existence. She becomes the fake girlfriend of the oldest Zhou brother to make money, gains respect from the younger Zhou brother who calls her sister-in-law within a couple of hours, gets gang lackeys scared of her connections, and is on her way to probably get more and more people either impressed or ticked off with what she knows. This was such an exciting and fun read due to its unique setting that’s same but different from our typical trope set up. Our female lead is fun, powerful, knowledgeable, and beautiful; meanwhile, our male lead is sickly, rich and powerful. With only 40 chapters, I feel like we’ve only touched a minor percentage of all the powerful people in their city. The gambling chapters were actually quite fun to read to try to figure out how the author is going to make Jiang Tong overpower the gambling expert. What that scene proves is that Jiang Tong is intelligent and her presence in the novel so far, proves her character to be strong. Also, we typically don’t get that much detail on gambling scenes. I’m not sure how many chapters this story has, but if it follow on to each powerful family that Jiang Tong tries to win/take over, it may get dragged out. Not much on the male lead so far apart from knowing that his family is strong, him giving away his virginity, and still thinking that Jiang Tong received him . Hoping this one gets picked and completed even though it doesn't seem like it'll be romance centered - more of female lead running around showing off her skills. If someone knows the raws, do share or just tell me the number of chapters. That will usually determine if I want to follow a novel or not.

== impression as of ch 30 == Su Wan and Jing Chen are in a contract marriage for 3 years. Jing Chen disclosed that he has somebody he already likes but will still treat her well and may possibly stay in the marriage if things changes in that 3 years. Jing Chen's actions makes Su Wan feel like he truly likes her but he suddenly asks for divorce on their 2nd year anniversary. Su Wan decides to keep her pregnancy a secret. What this story has is the typical contract marriage, two faced first love, female lead in love with male lead for xx number of years, and eventual regret of male lead. What I dislike the most is the male lead's disrespect of her. Yes, he disclosed that he liked someone else but he could still wait after his divorce to flaunt his side love all he wants. He doesn't need to call her names like "leftovers" or get jealous because that's not his right anymore. If he wants that respect, he shouldn't have put her in that position. We already know that he probably fell in love with female lead somewhere in their 2 years cause how can one treat another so well without some sort of good feelings? So all he does now is act all jealous. Wish that female lead can grow a bit more of a backbone for herself without the focus of the novel being too much about their love and who gets in their way (can get a bit boring in the long run if it has a lot of chapters). But this isn't such a horrible read, just not enough spunk of its own to make the characters more likable.

== impression as of ch 30== FL transmigrate into female villain, Su King's body after an accident. Su Jing is from a novel that she has read. Su Jing is the rich female villain who chases after the male lead which eventually leads to the fall of the Su family. The FL comes into the story when Su Jing tries to force Qin Feng (male lead in novel story) to get married with her. She snaps out of it and decides to cut ties with Qin Feng. Driving away, she bumps into the male villain and now male lead/love interest to Su Jing, Gu Che. She saves his life and though Gu Che originally planned to use Su Jing, he fell for her warmth. At this point of the story, Su Jing tries to push Gu Che onto the right path away from the novel leads so that he won't die at the end and she can gain benefits from him when he becomes powerful. Su Jing knows about her "friend" Fang Ke's crush on Qin Feng and how she's using Su Jing to get to Lin Yi and make Win Feng hate her. So Su Jing is trying to cut ties with Fang Ke. I like how the changes in the world story isn't abrupt even though Su Jing is doing her all to change her involvement with the characters in the story. Some events are still going as is and she has try to resolve them so it won't fall on her. Gu Che's attraction to Su Jing has already led them to their first kiss in ch 30. I think their relationship may progress faster than what I assume it would. If you like transmigration novels and focuses on villains as the leads, then this one may be fun.

== impression as of ch 30 == Mo Yan marries a pauper in the country in place of her sister to get 500K yuan to pay for her mother's medical fees and brother tuition. On her wedding night her husband "Lu Che" doesn't force them to consummate their marriage. She treats him sincerely by cooking his meals and thinking about how to go about their future with their living conditions. "Lu Che" continues his daily life by doing nothing of excessively exercising. He doesn't use his real identity to help Mo Yan until the Mo family bullies her and he works silently to help her and not expose his real identity. He's waiting for her to tell him about her real identity but she decides to shoulder all the issues herself. I think this is an interesting set up as both of them are stand in bride and grooms. One of my biggest issue with the novel is the female lead. She comes off as someone strong who is willing to stand up for herself but everything goes wrong for an opportunity for the male lead to help her aka the "Mary Sue" tag. I'd like a little balance in her actually being to stand her ground and fight for herself a bit. I do think it's double standards for the male lead to expect her to tell her real identity to him when he won't expose his own to her. I do have questions behind our male lead as we don't have much information about him yet. Where's the real Lu Che and why did he take on the identity of Lu Che. One thing I commend is how he treats her with respect and doesn't use his attraction to her to use her body under the pretense of being married. I think is novel is great for those who likes false identity swaps, powerful male lead, and possibly some sweet moments between the two later. However right now, we are seeing the female lead jump through hoops to be the money maker while the male lead sits back at home

== impression as of chapter 19 == Knowing that she may die soon, Mi Xiaomi forces herself on Ye Xiao and becomes pregnant with triplets. The story starts out with the doctor suggesting Mi Xiaomi to get rid of the triplets or carry only one to not harm herself. However, Xiaomi is persistent and wants to keep all three fetuses. At 3 months pregnant, Xiaomi looks like she's 6 months pregnant, so when she meets Ye Xiao, even though he feels familiar with her, he doesn't think that she can be the girl that slept with him. However, Ye Xiao is attracted to her and starts to wonder if he has a fetish for pregnant women. Xiaomi tries her best to stay away from Ye Xiao after she realized his identity. However, he keeps popping up wherever she goes. Miraculously, her cancerous brain tumor stops growing while she was pregnant. Xiaomi still wants to try to prevent her tumor from taking her life even though she is safe for now. The 4th young master Ye is rumored to be homosexual until his encounter with Mi Xiaomi. His life changed since she forced herself on him, but when he first met her while she was pregnant, he would always have wet dreams about her. Everyone around him noticed how he's changed and shown interested in women. But they soon realize that he doesn’t want just any woman, only Xiaomi. So far, this has all the typical set up of a tropey filled webnovel. The plus side is that it feels lighthearted and has a lot of comical moments.

== impression as of ch 25 == Xu Yi and Lu Shen got married abroad in Vegas. He's from Hong Kong while she's from China so Lu Shen and Xu Yi only meet up 1 or 2 a year. However, each time they meet, they'd be entangled with each other through the night. Lu Shen's company is going to expand in Beijing and Xu Yi is worried that she get restless nights from Lu Shen's stamina. However, having Lu Shen around isn't too bad as he helps her fight off her enemies in the entertainment world. So far, what we know about our characters. Xu Yi is an A list actresses. She's beautiful and always high viewership dramas. Her parents died at a young age and she was raised by her grandfather, uncle, and aunt. She got married to Lu Shen on a whim but neither of them has brought up divorce. Currently, a newbie "lookalike" actress is trying to ride on her popularity. Xu Yi is trying to get used to seeing Lu Shen more and still isn't getting used to having intense nights with him. Though their relationship seems to be improving. Lu Shen is a business mogul from Hong Kong and works a lot. This time he will be closer to Xu Yi in Beijing as the business expands (I'm assuming it's due to Lu Shen wanting to be close to Xu Yi). He's a cold and feared businessman who doesn't say much. He enjoys rolling around with his wife and he doesn't cheat on her through the months they spend apart because of his high energy. Lu Shen seems to dote on Xu Yi and is willing to give her things as Xu Yi uses her body as payment. So far, it has a typical character set up, popular actress and cut throat businessman. There's several steamy scenes but has enough plot to not make one bored of reading the steam. The story is focused on Xu Yi and her daily life as an actress. With Lu Shen moving to Beijing, their relationship will probably strengthen and he'll dote on her more. We'll see more fluff as we go.

== impression as of chapter 19 == Yao Tang was exchanged at birth and was found years later as a teenager in the countryside. The only reason her family brought her back was because they were told that she would bring good feng shui (good luck) to the family. Yao Ran (adopted daughter) and her parents doesn’t treat her well on their first meeting but are willing to provide for her as long as she doesn’t embarrass them. Yao Tang is the most beautiful girl that anyone in the novel has ever seen as she has inherited the good looking genes of the Yao family. She’s cold and aloof and emits this aura that makes everyone scared of her even though they’re drawn to her beauty. She’s a prodigy child but all her exams has 0s on them. We know that Yao Tang doesn’t care for the Yao family and only came to the city with some sort of agenda that has yet to be revealed to us. She probably has some sort of successful business/side hustle going that will be revealed later as Yao Tang has someone working under her. I’m assuming the male lead is the infamous young master of the Cheng family who followed Yao Tang to the city. I’m also assuming that he is the man that Yao Tang saved in the beginning of the novel. That man seemed to be enamored by her even though she wanted him to leave. So far, I’m not too impressed with the novel. I think because there’s no clear goal to what Yao Tang is doing in the novel. It’s not a revenge trope because she’s not back with the Yao family to take revenge, she’s not attending school to become the top student, nor is she chasing the male lead. So, in a way, it feels like it’s getting dragged on and I don’t know if I want to continue to see what her goal is. But if you enjoy a smart female lead with a hidden agenda, you may enjoy this one.

== impression after 40 chapters == A doctor transmigrate into a novel as a supporting character, Yan Xi. Yan Xi is in a marriage with Gu Shen, a cripple man. Yan Xi doesn't treat Gu Shen with respect and would berate and embarrass him publicly. The transmigrator knows that Yan Xi will die in the novel after divorcing the male lead. She takes over the body right before asking for the divorce in the original novel, so instead of divorcing, she tries to make up for the old mistakes of Yan Xi. (All of this makes up the first set of chapters. While the rest is seeing the transmigrated Yan Xi set forth in her plan of helping Gu Chen and improving her image) The believability of the novel and set up is commendable. Yan Xi is still flawed (old and new). She has to fix the past mistakes that the previous Yan Xi has made. Even though she's a doctor, she doesn't on the spot have a cure and plan in motion to cure this long term disability that the male lead has. She gets some face slapping in by herself but she gets slapped as well. Yan Xi also knows how to use her charms to get the help of the male lead. The progression of the story moves in a smooth way. The male lead, Gu Chen, is still suspicious of Yan Xi as her change is too sudden. Though he is still cautious, he can't help but give Yan Xi attention and help her when she needs it. He proves it that though he is wheelchair bound, he is strong willed to succeed in the business world. Gu Chen won't let anyone bully Yan Xi unless it is him. I really enjoy this even with the cliche tropes: wheelchair bound male lead, transmigration, horrible female lead personality that gets changed, etc. The writer took these ideas and made it into their own story. I'll look forward to the rest of this when it gets picked up!

== impression as of chapter 10 == Cen Pan can see and communicate with her ancestors' spirits. They help her with making the right decisions for her future, which leads to her marriage with Ye Xiao. 10 chapters isn't nearly enough to review much on the story but 10 chapters was enough to tell me about the novel. The translation/grammar makes it kind of hard to read at times. I'm usually not too picky about aspect but it does bother me when it stops the flow of the novel. Another issue I had was the development of the story. It moved in a really choppy way. Instead of letting a story unfold to us, it was revealed in a way where it wasn't enjoyable to read (like it was told to us). A lot happened within 10 chapters but the lack of character depth or even personality made it interesting to read. The flavor of the writing style is really bland which is a bummer because this idea is fun and fresh. It could've been something fun with the ghost medium/supernatural on top of the typical cliches.
