well if you use the same comb for dragon ball/one piece/harry potter etc. you will see a lot of similarly stupid shit. stories that do not take themselves seriosly do not operate on logic and rationality in the first place. admitedly the training effects bothered me as well, but i chose to view it as having pushed himself to the absolute limit multiplied by a 100 times rather than 10 min.

although i logically agree. i have read an unending amount of novels where the mc does hide everything possible about themselves, but almost none where they are transparant to their close ones, and even fewer where they are transparant in general. so honestly i'd like to read more novels that do not take themselves to seriously.

admitedly i no longer remember, but did he know that at the time? if not it changes nothing about his behavior being unacceptable. if he did i guess there is some leeway but he certainly would not look good to the surounding people.
