Depend, it should be more précise to say that by gaining acces to something outside of the original fate, he gained a new one that allow him to break the old one, creating new Fate. Which is why I say I would be disapointed if he didn't change/break it and just go with it instead with a few change that doesn't change the "original fate". In a sense it's similar to a OP MC that knowing the future but go out of his way to keep it as it "should be" instead of doing what he want, those MC anoy me...

Would be disapointed if Fate isn't broken, by joining that system he shoul haver become a "fateless" allowing him to change/break Fate.
