Close but not quite. Star Wars uses the Aurebesh alphabet and the language most of them speak is Galactic Basic. The standard galactic alphabet is from the Commander Keen video games.

I wouldn’t say it’s a failure of a cursed tool. Sure it tastes bad but if the only choice is starvation or terrible tasting food, then I’m sure they’d eat the food. It sounds like the perfect emergency ration source.
See I created a ring that converted energy to this sort of thick grey paste that was chock full of nutrients but looked and tasted downright lethal. It had no smell so i had no warning at all before I tasted it myself. It was like I had eaten concentrate of bitterness as I almost immediately threw up. I destroyed that hellish artifact and after failing to make anything that worked as food gave up.
