Damn. Binged the entire thing in a couple of days! And I must say its a worthy read! I learned more about Marvel comics and Agents of Shield reading this work than from anywhere else. That said as I do not have firsthand knowledge I cannot say how aligned with the source material this fanfic was. Anyway, on to the actual review! First let me get this out of the way. This work seems to be a translation based on a Chinese made fanfic, but unlike my initial worries it lacks much of the super nationalism so prevalent to many Chinese based works making it a more palatable read for a worldwide audience, whether this was its default state (more likely) or through judicious editing on the translator's part (less likely) remains to be seen. Not all things are sunshines and roses though. While the story and plot itself is great the quality of the translation is really bad, its just slightly better than a direct machine translation. It is however fairly legible and does not detract too much for the overall experience. Now, the main reason I was able to slog through the entire thing in almost one sitting is the fact that the story and main character is riveting. Starting out as one of the more iconic and powerful Marvel villain Magneto, travelling back in time and crossing over into a parallell Marvel universe within the first few chapters and you immediately have your readers hooked. The power creep is also logical and progressive without relying on golden fingers to carry the narrative and you find yourself a smooth and pleasant experience. The MC also does not have the murder hobo mindset of typical cultivators making him more real compared to most MC's these days. The story also features a vast array of characters showing an amazing amalgation of MCU, comic verse and other Marvel sources into a near seemless greater narrative showing that the original author actually did plot things out rather that just doing whatever hits his fancy at any given moment. Without giving out any spoilers I can definitely say that this is something worth reading. Overall, much better than many other works in this platform and a must read for any Marvel fan.
Bye bye village I guess? Haha
I'm really curiouz why Chinese translations have this type of name format? Alias : Real Name.
LOL. These comments are vicious!
Interesting idea. I hope author-sensei didn't forget Kakashi is still a teenager. Otherwise he will probably be even shorter than Wolverine. Haha
Hmm. Looks like he is still possibly undergoing the mental trial. Its impossible for a cheat MC to fail offscreen. LOL
I think weall have the same question! Who the f@ck is Lomon?!
The MC was originally pretty likable and its interesting that he is not a typical dark, emo and overly serious character. In fact, he acts like a typical teenager and is usually more on the humorous side than not. Daylighting as a normal student while also working as a sorcerer was a great start. The only reason I paused reading was that ever since the MC returned to his home reality he has become more and more a typical asshole cultivator mindset. By that I mean he is creating conflict where it is not needed and always displays a heavy hand to keep the 'mortals' like SHIELD, Tony, etc. in their place while showing a modicum of respect to other 'immortals' like the gods of Asgard. In other words if you don't have martial/magical strength then the MC will not care for your opinions because you are not qualified to talk to this young master! At least, that was the vibe I've been getting lately. Which was a huge disappointment. All the earlier buildup for his affable and jokester personality was greatly diminished, and now whenever he jokes around I just feel like he is a bully that is only willing to humorous to those he considers of enough worth. I just can't understand the sudden character change and can't keep up with it. Hence I'm semi-dropping this until I feel like I can't take it on without much bitterness.
