This novel is my favorite by far and never fails to put a smile on my face with how silly it can be. However, when push comes to shove it can really hit you with the feels. The author lulled me into a false sense of security with the lighthearted comedy but as things develop I become increasingly worried that things will end in tragedy. But without stakes and a realistic possibility of loss how can you truley have a tense situation.

Very unique writing style but it fits the comedic undertone quite well. All in all a nice lighthearted comedy. It reminds me of what I would call misunderstanding-comedies like "Angel Densetsu".

Permadeath games can be quite fun since the added risk makes tense situations much more thrilling. I do agree that it's very rare to see it in an MMO and I'm far more used to seeing it in single-player games or tabletop games like D&D.
