Updating my review because I'm really not enjoying where the novel is going in the latest chapters.
Christ this guy is a crybaby. Every other chapter he's balling his eyes out. This one is a bit understandable tho
Bad grammar that slowly improves as the novel progresses, excellent story that made me glad that is stuck through it deep wanting to drop and first. If the author went back and edited the grammar in the early half of the novel he'd be able to get a lot more readers to stick through it and really appreciate this banger.
Why are all the characters in this story so stupid. The headmaster, these old Long valn people etc etc. keep doing h aggressive things for little to no reason. Everyone keep doing things that would make the MC their enemies when he gets stronger if he wasn't such a massive pushover.
TLDR: 10/10 worldbuilding, 9/10 spelling & grammar, 8/10 characters, 9/10 plot, 6/10 pacing, 7/10 smut. This author has done his homework and it show in this story. There is a lot of technical discussion on topics the author has researched or knows from his real field of expertise. From how to build crossbows, bows, homes, administrations and armies to how to develop technologies of all sort be they from a forge to a farm, they are all discussed and shown at length in this story. As a result of this hard work the kingdom building that takes place after the first few hundred chapter of warfare and military strategy/tactics is very engrossing. The action when it takes place (A lot at the start but it's fallen off by where I am ch400) is interesting. The author tries and mostly succeeds in making the combat dynamic and when he describes troop to troop cambat I can still keep the image in my head. One major criticism however the author can be to verbose, he's almost indulgent in the amount of detail. For example an itemised military training handbook was lovingly read over three whole chapters. Expect to be sat alongside the MC in nearly every day to day meeting from the battlefield to the boardroom. Some of the time I feel like I'm reading the minutes some secretary has written. Some find it fascinating some may find it exhausting. Similarly the Smut while well written and very raunchy can drag on for multiple chapters and overstay it's welcome. A case of too much of a good thing. To expand on the smut writing, it definitely leans heavily of a few fetishes. some I like (S&M play, Anal, FFM) Some I don't (very very slutty side characters (One I specifically hate), F&F, Orgy) There has been no NTR and good given the MC stated preference I doubt there will be. All the characters have their own personality, goals, backgrounds and aspirations. While a lot of the female characters have some suspiciously similar sexual preferences they are diverse in all the other ways that matter. However a result of this is some characters may rub you the wrong way. One particular I dislike but due to the MC habit of indulging his adversaries until they fall into his traps and his horniness for beautiful enemies they tend to stick around for a while and interact a lot. All in all a great read I wish I discovered at 2000 chapter not 320 haha.
Everything about how he's handled the ink rain group and their conspiracy has been incredibly negligent so far. From not reporting the attempted enslavement to the many powerful cultivators almost begging to support him and now this dismissal despite kit being reasonable assumption some of the martial sect would have been captured previous when he escaped from the guy trying to enslave them.
She's one to talk
Yes, let's just say my greatest secret out loud in a dangerous place. Makes sense . I hate it when authors suddenly make their protagonists do uncharacteristically stupid things to advance some plot point.
That's what I was thinking, of he doesn't he got robbed picking necromancer instead of getting a whole other class like the unique summoner class. With all those skills that may have synergistic effects with the necromancer skill he got from the book he'd be a lot stronger than just a +1 to like one skill.
I have no ideywhy Helen is even on this mission with them? What does she bring that warranted Lux bringing her?
