First of all, what's "irrelanet?" Also I'm sorry to inform you, but that's exactly how it works... If you're living in a different country/world you are bound by that world/country's laws and customs not the other way around... 😅 Not to mention they are in a Kingdom, meaning they are under the king's rule in a world that doesn't have a UN to enforce human rights. So even if the king wants to enslave them, throw them into a breeding pit, or whatever else he fancies~ Luckily for them, they are mostly cooperating, so the king doesn't have to use forceful tactics.

Yeah, you're right. My comment was before the Courtney follow-up chapter... At the time I was going off his interaction with the Goddess+ Courtney's hallway encounter... so I assumed it would be the whole being looked down cliche, so that he'll enslave them all... I am glad I was wrong 😁👍

I would have to disagree with your usage of "kids" since fantasy worlds are usually equivalent to medieval settings... Thus It's not unusual to enlist soldiers from 12 yrs and older... For instance between the 14th and 19th centuries, the Ottoman empire trained elite infantry units known as Janissaries whose soldiers were as young as 7 years old... So yes 17 and 18 year olds should be considered as adults in their world... women having children (plural) as young as 12 was also a common occurrence ~
