Team Effort (1/3)

On the left side of the field Bryan and Ni were currently in a conundrum. They had arrived at the same time as the other three teams, even with their slow walking. Three were from the yellow team, two were from the orange team and three were from the red team.

They had all stopped in their tracks looking at their opponents with hesitation.

Bryan and Ni stood in front of the red team while, diagonal of the red team, was the orange team. Closer to Ni and Bryan was the yellow team.

Who was going to make the first move?

"You won't be taking our flag!" A boy from the red team shouted.

He was a short boy with black hair that reached his ear tips. He had sparkling red eyes and a baby's face with a hint of matureness.

"Oh, yeah?" A girl from the yellow team questioned.

She had her blonde hair up into a messy bun and her gray eyes made her look regal.

"We'll see about that." Another girl from the yellow team followed.

She also had blonde hair but it was cut to a bob. Her eyes resembled the forest leaves.

"Can someone just start running towards somebody?" A boy from the orange team whined.

He was of average height and he had orange-red hair. His walnut eyes seemed to shine under the light.

Ni ignored their confrontations and looked ahead of him. The red team's territory was flat terrain. Ni could see one person guarding the flag. He had determination floating in his eyes.

It seemed he was the most athletic one on the team. He was taller than most, had a lean body and was in a squat position. His hands were out in front of him, his palms facing the sky.

'How lucky,' Ni thought.

Bryan, who was standing not too far from Ni, inched closer to him. He leaned over so his mouth was closer to Ni's ear and began to whisper.

"I'll tag the two from the yellow team, after that I'll aim for the orange team, at best I can only tag one, after that I'll try to dodge the red team's attacks and enter their territory to get the flag. How about you tag the people from the red team so that the only ones we have to worry about afterwards is the orange team?"

Ni scrunched his eyebrows. It seemed over complicated but Ni was too focused on getting away from the area with the flag to pay much notice to it.

Ni nodded his head to show he agreed with the plan.

"When I count to three let's bum rush them!"

Ni nodded again.

Bryan slinked back to his original position and did a once over. He coughed and then took a peek at Ni, his vision was focused on the flag.

"Well, if you guys are going to just sit there and not do anything, I guess me and him will. 1…2…3!"

Bryan ran right. He curved around Ni and located his targets. The two from the orange team immediately noticed him. One decided to run away while the other decided to run towards him.

That girl had just made a huge mistake!

The girl reached out towards him, aiming for his shoulder. The movement was too big and it left an opening for Bryan. His eyes narrowed and he quickly swerved from the attack and tagged the girl on her hip.

He then ran after the other team member. He was running back towards their territory.

'Hah! What a wimp!'

Bryan increased his speed and in no time he caught up to him. He didn't try to reach out his hand to tag him; he waited until he was on his heels to grab his shoulder. The boy stumbled backwards and almost fell but Bryan caught him.

"Got ya!"

Bryan turned around and ran back towards the now dismembered group.

While Bryan was chasing after the boy from the orange team, Ni had managed to tag every member of the yellow team and one from the red team.

Bryan then arrived next to him and noticed how the remaining members of the red team had retreated and went to the safe haven of their territory.

Bryan was breathing hard and so was Ni, their chests were rising up and down in sync.

Ni looked over at Bryan and then back at the three people from the red team. Those three didn't seem too athletic so why did Auo say that they were the more athletic team?

Ni scratched his head and quickly looked behind him to see that multiple people were climbing up their hill.

'I hope Auo, Smilia and Logan are alright.'

Ni looked back at Bryan and smirked.

"Let's bum rush them."

Bryan smiled in acknowledgement.

O o o o O

Back at their hill, all two teams were surrounding the bottom of the hill. One was from the orange team and two were from the red team.

Auo scrunched his eyebrows together.

'Why are they here already? Did they run?'

"Auo," Smilia called, " Should we leave our position to go and tag them? They're in our territory."

Auo shook his head.

"Wait until they get near us, then tag them."

Smilia nodded her head, her orange hair swaying.

The girl with the ponytail was slowly inching up the hill, trying her best not to bring any attention to her. Her plan was to sneak her way up the hill, take the flag and then run back down the hill back to her territory as fast as she could.

The hill was large enough to obscure the vision of the other teams, so they couldn't see the girl with the ponytail worming her way up the hill. She was thankful for their distraction.

The two other teams had started to make their way up the hill and Ash scoffed at their effort.

'Forget what that Auo kid said, I'm going to tag them!'

Without warning, Ash ran down the hill, slightly surprising the players still climbing the treacherous mountain.

"Get wrecked you b*tches!" He yelled while chasing after the other players.

Auo gnashed his teeth and frowned.

'If we ever play a game that involves teams again I will do everything in my power to not have him as a teammate.'
