"Hey Alexa. Do you think I should go through this tutorial or just skip it?" I question her. "I already played through this in Master Duel."

{Eric. I recommend doing this because Master Duel and this are different. Master Duel gives you time and options on certain timings on when to activate a card, but in this, It's overall more helpful for learning timings in activation of cards. With dueling with a real duel disk and opponents, they will not wait 3 minutes for you to activate a card.}

"Hmm…" Thinking about what she said. It is true, I guess there are no shortcuts. "Ok. Let's do it. The author does need his word count up"

{What?} She asks confused

"Oh nothing" I say trying to divert the topic

{Ok then, Eric}

'Now that I think about it. Why does Alexa so many times? Maybe it's just me? Yeah maybe.' As I was thinking my opponent appears again.

"You again? Good, it's time for a rematch" he says.

"Dude that happened like a minute ago" I deadpanned at him.

"Doesn't matter! You're going down!" He yells at me, while activating his duel disk.

I mentally sigh and activate my own.

"DUEL" He shouts.

"DU-DUEL" I stutter. Well, he didn't say it last time so I got confused.

Opponent: 4,000; Hand: 0 Card

Eric: 4000; Hand: 2 Card

"You go first. I insist" He tells me

"Alright then" I looked at the 2 cards in my hand. It was still 'Chosen by the World Chalice' and 'Skill Successor'. "First I summon 'Chosen by the World Chalice' in attack mode." I say while putting my card on the duel disk.

A Young man with blonde hair, wearing armor and scarves, and on his hand was a sword has materialized in the air.

'I'll never get tired of this' I think with excitement. 'Now next will be setting the card'

"Now I set one card face down. I can't attack on the first turn so, I end my turn" I say passing the turn to him.

"Finally took you long enough. My turn. Draw" He draws a card. "Now I summon 'Angel Trumpeter' in attack position"

A plant-like person with leaves for hair and arms, with legs as an orange flower holding another orange flower.

"Now attack his monster" He says confidently.

All of a sudden. It looked like time had stopped.

{Eric. When an opponent declares a battle. You can activate trap cards or quick play spells unless it was something specific.Do you understand?}

"Yeah" I say, understanding her words. After saying that time resumed and his monster quickly went to my monster. "I activate the trap card 'Skill Successor'. I choose a monster and it gains 400 attack points until the end of the turn. I choose 'Chosen by the World Chalice'." I told him.

As my monster gets a red fiery aura raising his attack points. After that 'Angel Trumpeter' attack connects, with him losing 100 points.

"Tch. Lucky Bastard!" he yells at me angrily. "I guess I end my turn"

"Now my monster loses the gained attack points. My turn. I draw"

I draw a card and see 'Blade Knight'. " First. I activate 'Skill Successor' from my graveyard."

"From the graveyard?!" He exclaimed in surprise.

"Yep, Now my monster gains 800 atk until the end of this turn, by banishing it" As a red fiery aura surrounds 'Chosen by the World Chalice' again.

"We-well, you still can't beat me." He stutters

"Now, I summon 'Blade Knight' in attack position" I say to him.

{Lv 4: Blade Knight; Atk: 1600; Def: 1000}

"And his attack rises by 400 points when I have 1 or less cards in my hand, and seeing that I have no cards his attack rises."

{Lv 4: Blade Knight; Atk: 1600-2000; Def: 1000}

"Now both my monsters attack you directly!" I yell as both of my monsters attack him and he falls down.

Opponent: 0

"Hey man, You okay?" I question as I go to him again with my hand extended.

"Yeah. It's alright didn't even hurt" As he starts disappearing. "See you next time"

He smiles as he disappears completely.

{So how was the battle host?} she asks.

"It was alright" I told her. Feeling a little unsatisfied.

'Oh yeah' I think remembering that I haven't received my rewards yet. "Maybe later after this tutorial" I say knowing that there was one more tutorial duel.

{Ok Eric, are you ready for the last tutorial?}

"Heck yeah!" Remembering this time that it was a proper duel.

'Well, I wasn't planning to skip it' I think as I press Yes.

Now my opponent appears right in front of me, but it wasn't the guy from last time. It was someone new. She had long blonde hair, with crystal blue eyes. She wore a jacket with a black shirt inside. She looked very beautiful.

{Eric. Are you ready for the final tutorial?}. She asks me.

Recognizing the voice immediately, I was taken back. "Alexa!? You're my opponent?"

{Yes Eric. Now then let's duel} She says activating her duel disk.

I smile at that. "Come on then Alexa." as we both look each other eye to eye.

Drawing 5 cards, as we start our match

""DUEL!"" We both shout at the same time.

Eric: 4,000; Hand: 5 Cards

Alexa: 4,000; Hand: 5 Cards

"I'll go first." I said looking at my cards.

Chosen by the World Chalice, Beckoned by the World Chalice, Smashing Grounds, Sorcerous Spell Wall, and finally Dust Tornado

'There's not much I can play since this is a starting deck. Now the question is, is she using the deck from the tutorial too?' I think. "I'm going to start with something easy and summon 'Beckoned by the World Chalice' in attack mode" I say as my monster shows up

"Now I activate the field spell 'Sorcerous Spell Wall', when it's my turn, all my monsters gain 300 Atk." I say as some of the surroundings change to a spell circle on the ground.

"Now I set one card and end my turn" I say passing the turn to her. "Due to 'Sorcerous Spell Wall' effect, my monster's lose the attack point, but gains 300 defense points"

{It's my turn. Draw} She declares. {First let's get rid of that spell card shall we? I activate the spell card 'De-Spell' and destroy your 'Sorcerous Spell Wall'}

As a green smoke destroys my 'Sorcerous Spell Wall'. {Now, I summon 'Kuribandit' in attack mode and set one card and then-}

"Before you continue. I activate my trap card 'Dust Tornado' to destroy your set card" I interrupt her. A tornado then appears and destroys her set card which was 'Castle Walls'.

{Dust Tornado; Trap Card: Target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destroy that target, then you can Set 1 Spell/Trap from your hand.}

{Doesn't matter, now I end my turn. But before you go I activate 'Kuribandit's effect. During my end phase, I tribute him to excavate the top 5 cards of my deck, then add one spell or trap card to my hand, then put the remaining to my graveyard.} She excavates 5 cards while showing them to me. They were Three Strikes Barrier, Giant Soldier of Stone, Remove Trap,Neo Bug and then Angel Trumpeter. She chose Three Strike Barrier.

Eric: 4,000; Hand: 2 Cards: Field: 1 {Beckoned by the World Chalice}

Alexa: 4,000; Hand: 4 Cards

"My turn. Draw" Drawing 'Tune Warrior'. 'Looks like she's using the same tutorial deck.' I think. "Now then I summon 'Tune Warrior' in attack mode."

"Now I attack directly with both monsters." I say as both monsters attack her.

Alexa: 600

"I end my turn" I tell her.

Eric: 4,000; Hand: 2 Cards: Field: 2 {Beckoned by the World Chalice, Tune Warrior}

Alexa: 600; Hand: 4 Cards

{My turn. I draw} She says.{I use the spell card Pot of Greed, this let's me draw 2 cards}

"WHAT?!" I exclaim in surprise."Pot of Greed?! That's banned". 'And this wasn't in the tutorial'.

{Well Eric. This isn't your old world. There's no banlist}

To say I was surprised was an understatement. I mean no banlist? That's great, with that I can play cards I dreamt of playing like Galaxy-Eyes Dark Matter Dragon.

{I summon Neo Bug in attack mode}

{Lv 4: Neo Bug; Atk: 1800; Def: 1700}

{Now, I activate 'Double Summon' I can then normal summon again} she said activating the spell card.

{Double Summon; Spell Card: You can conduct 2 Normal Summons/Sets this turn, not just 1.}

{With that, I summon Angel Trumpeter in attack mode} She says summoning her monster.

{Lv 4: Angel Trumpeter; Atk: 1900; Def: 1600}

{Now I overlay 'Neo Bug' and 'Angel Trumpeter'.} She says as her 2 monsters turn into lights going up into the sky. {With these 2 monsters I construct the Overlay Network} As a vortex appears swallowing both lights. {XYZ Summon} As the Vortex explodes in bright lights. {Come forth- 'Number 39: Utopia'}

As Number 39 is summoned in the field. The ace monster in the Zexal anime. I happened to be a big fan of Zexal. Now it's right in front of me. So, I was very excited.

{Now Utopia, destroy his 'Beckoned by the World Chalice'. Rising Sun Slash!} She orders Utopia to destroy my monster. Having no negates I get thrown back by the battle.

Eric: 3300

"AHHHH" I yell out. "That hurt!" feeling the damage I took from her attack. Now I understand why Yu-gi-oh protagonist yells when they're attacked. I'll never underestimate their pain ever again. I always thought they were super overdramatic by getting hurt like that, well except for when they were thrown back a hundred feet away. I always wondered how they survived after that.

{Give up Eric, or you'll get hurt more} Alexa says in a worried tone.

"And miss out on the cool rewards? No way!} I deny her. "Besides it's starting to get fun."

{*Sigh* Very Well Eric. Let's continue} She says reluctantly

"What? You scared I'm going to beat your ass?" I mock her (bad idea).

Suddenly Alexa was covered in a dark aura. She looked at me with cold eyes.{Well, ok then} she said in a cold voice.

"Co-come on A-Alexa." I stuttered because she was very, very scary at this moment. "I-It was just a joke" trying to get out of a woman's rage.

{Come on now Eric. Kick my ass, I'll give you one last turn, but if you don't beat me by then. I'll have to punish you} she says in a very sadistic smile, while every part of my body shiver.

"Please forgive me!" I begged her.

{No. no I don't think I will} As I look at her, she lets out an innocent smile giving me a little bit of hope, but it gives me more shivers than the sadistic smile. {On another note. I set 2 cards and end my turn}

Alexa: 600; Hand: 1 Card: Field: 3 {Number 39: Utopia, 2 Set Cards}

'Aww man… This is scarier than that time I got in trouble when I kicked my teacher after watching that Family Guy episode' I think remembering the memory

[Flashback]

Peter: Keep the change. Road house.

Eric: Hahaha. Peter always cracks me up.

*RING*

Teacher: Ok class we have 33 assignments that needs to be passed on Monday. You have all weekend to finish it.

Everyone but Eric: Awwww…

Eric squints his eyes.

Eric: Hey, teach. Can you come here for a sec?

Teacher: Oh ok π×||¶¶|. I'll be right there

As the teacher goes in front of me.

Teacher: What is it π×||¶¶|?

Eric: I don't want homework on MY weekends.

As he gets up and kicks the teacher two times. And the students just looks in shock

Eric:*looks at a random direction* Road House

Principal: Mr. π×||¶¶| what you have done is unacceptable. Fortunately for you it's your first offense, so we will only give you suspension, we are telling this to your mother.

Eric: Nonono Please don't tell her. She'll kill me

Principal: I'm sorry Mr. π×||¶¶|, but I have to tell her

[Flashback End]

'Hahahah. I almost got expelled and killed, but it was all worth it. Man my past mother must be super terrifying' I laugh at the old memory. 'Focus. Eric, Focus'

'Now deck, I know we have some differences but I would really like it if you didn't brick me.' I think to my deck. 'I believe in the heart of the cards and the power of the credit card, just don't brick me'

"I DRAW!" I yell like any anime protagonist in a tight situation.

'This is it.' I thought happily. 'This is the comeback where the Yu-Gi-Oh protagonist gets if ever they were in a tight spot. They suddenly get a random card that isn't from their deck and win'

"First, I use the spell card 'Smashing Grounds' to destroy your monster with the highest defense" I declare. "And seeing that you only have Utopia, it gets destroyed."

"Now I summon 'Chosen by the World Chalice' in attack position."

{Lv 3: Chosen by the World Chalice; Atk: 1600; Def: 0}

"Now, I tune with my level 3 'Tune Warrior' with my 'Chosen by the World Chalice'" As Tune warrior turn into 3 bright light, going up the sky. And 'Chosen by the World Chalice' floating up. The light then turns into 3 rings with 'Chosen by the World Chalice' going in the middle. And then 'Chosen by the World Chalice' turning into 3 lights as well "SYNCHRO SUMMON" As it explodes in brilliant light. "Mighty Warrior!" As a figure with a huge mechanical arm descends from the sky, with robotic looking armor.

{Lv 6: Mighty Warrior; Atk: 2200; Def: 2000; Synchro}

"Now attack her directly with Mighty Smash!" I ordered the warrior.

(I can't think of anything creative)

{Fool, didn't you think I have a counter for your comeback? I use my trap card 'Counter Gate' to negate a direct attack and draw one card.} She tells me

"I chain with my quick play spell from my hand 'Double or Nothing'" I told her as I activated it.

I can tell by her expression that she didn't anticipate this. All according to keikaku.

"Now My Mighty Warrior can attack again and his attack is doubled!" I say as 'Mighty Warrior' gains his attack points

"What? Didn't think I had a counter for your counter for my comeback?" I asked smugly.

{You win this time Eric.} She smiles as my warrior attacks her for game. And she was sent flying back.

[Achievement Unlocked: Tutorial Breaker]

'What?' I question as I read the blue panel that appeared. I ignored it for now and saw Alexa.

'Why do they always fly back?' I question myself. Rushing to her side to make sure she isn't hurt.

"Hey. You okay?" I ask her being worried.

{NO! I mean no Eric. I'm alright} she says. {Can you please lift me up?}

"Ah. Ok then" as I extend my arm for her to grab on. She accepts it and she gets back up. After that the whole arena crumbles and we are back in the room before

We were quiet for a few seconds staring at each other.

{Pfff…} I hear her laugh. She starts to put her hand to her mouth, but right now I can't feel but laugh. I don't know why but when I look at her I can't help but laugh

"Pfff…" I stared into her eyes and couldnt hold it any longer. "Hahahahahahaha"

{Pfff… Hahahaha} she joins me laughing as we fall in each others arms, but we continue laughing, until we eventually stop.

{So how did you enjoy your experience of a real first duel?} She asks me.

"It was fun. I thought it was going to be another tutorial with your own set cards." I say.

{Well, I felt that you weren't enjoying it much, so I took it upon myself to make it more enjoyable. Unfortunately I couldn't change it too much, due to it being the tutorial still.} She says.

I smile at her statement. "Thanks Alexa." I see her a little red.'Weird, must have been exhausted from the duel' I think.

"Now about the rewards?" I ask excitedly for my rewards, probably looking like a kid asking for his birthday presents.

Alexa just chuckles and swipes her hands, as a blue panel appears.

[Congratulations Eric for completing the tutorial.]

'Of course YES!' I quickly click on Yes and don't see anything. Alexa probably looked at my expression and chuckled.

{I forgot.} She starts speaking. {I haven't explained what system I was and functions}

Now that she did say it. I didn't get any explanation.

{Well Eric. I have the standard of systems with built in Status, Shop, Inventory and many more features.} She explains. {Right now, we are in the lobby, in other words the Main Menu of games. Now that the tutorial is done. I think it's time for some reconstruction.} She snaps her fingers as the whole room changes. From a dull room, it became a beautiful palace. I see one corner with a sign that says 'SHOP', one corner with 'SOLO', one with 'DECKS', and lastly one that was the biggest of them all 'DUEL'. It was magnificent. {Now to see one's status, it is typically a code word 'Status' Please try it. It will work with both verbal or mind.}

"STATUS!" I excitedly shout. This was every Weeb and Gamer's fantasy.
