Garden

There we stood side by side as she admired the view in front of us. "It's so pretty." She mumbled, mesmerized by the pretty garden that was ahead of us. A smirk escaped my lips as the hours I spent searching online was worth it. We were currently in a very special public garden. There were games and workshops as well as a few food stalls. "So, what do you want to start with?" I asked taking out a map from the table that was on the side. She scooted closer as she read the list of things we can do here. "Woah so many things to do….Can we start with visiting the butterfly house?" She looks cute when she is excited. I nodded as we made our way there.

We were met with a huge entrance door that was a butterfly shape. As we passed through it, saying the place was beautiful would be an understatement. It was full of different colors. The shades of green that engulfed the trees were so vibrant that you'll feel like it is some magic place, just like Mount Olympus. Flowers everywhere, of all colors, butterflies roaming around freely. "Mark! Look at this blue butterfly, it's so pretty." She pointed at a butterfly that was seated on a flower. "That's an Adonis Blue." She turned her head facing me as she questioned my knowledge about this.

Being a god, this was basic knowledge. At school, we had a class to learn about different animal's name. I remember that Butterflies was the longest chapter followed by birds. I chuckled as I remember my father having a hard time teaching me the names.

"Yeah, chuckle without giving me an answer." I laughed following her. "Actually, I like butterflies, so I know a few stuff about them." This can't really be classified as a lie right? It's what a human calls-

A white lie.

"Then what is this called?" She pointed out to a small green butterfly. "Green hairstreak. I also remember that its scientific name is Callophrys rubi." "You're quite smart." She whispered as she walked further. "I heard you." She laughed, turning around as she stuck her tongue out. I laughed back skipping over to reach her.

After a bit less than an hour, we already finished walking around in the butterfly house. "Want to visit the flower workshop now?" I asked as I was reading the list again. "Yeah, but can we eat something before?" She rubbed on her stomach as she looked around, which I guessed was for some food stall. "Sure. Come on."

We took our order and we seated ourselves at a table that was close to what they called an "Old trees house." It was full of trees that were more than 500 years old. "You should've ordered chicken, it's so delicious."

"Actually… Mark, thank you." She stopped eating as she seriously looked at me. "Thank you for bringing me here. I have a lot on my mind, but coming here… with you… I feel much better now. Also, I never actually went out with no one as I didn't have friends other than you. I finally felt and lived something I've been longing for, and I finally have some memories to look back at when I'm down…so thank you again."

Everly… you have suffered so much over the years… I don't want you to suffer again. If only there was a way for me to stay with you, without killing you. If only I could save you from this without hurting you, I would, without thinking twice, take it.

"Hey, I didn't mean to make you sad… I... umm. I'm sorry." "Huh?" Oh. I didn't realize I got lost in my thoughts. "Your face, you looked like you were about to cry." Her lips formed a straight line as she looked at me concerned. "Ah nothing. You don't need to thank me, it's a pleasure to be your friend." Her lips soon turned from a straight line to a mesmerizing smile.

As I looked at her smiling self, my heart could not help itself expect by beating rapidly. This moment, looked like the photographs we find almost everywhere. Where the only focus is the person and everything else is blurred. With every detail that was around me, all I could see was the smiling Everly, and I couldn't help but smile.

"…and most importantly, follow your heart." Everly and I were now seated in the flower workshop. There were around 8 other people other than us and we were currently listening to the instructions of the lady in charge. "You may start now, and if you need any help, I'll be sitting here." She motioned to an artistic pink desk that was found on the left side of the room.

"Let's do one together, it'll be easier this way." Everly chose a white pot that had a few grey line on. While she was putting soil in the pot, I walked over to an aisle that was full of flowers that were newly cut. I picked some white, purple, blue and pink flowers that I thought looked good together. "You actually have a good taste." "Is that a compliment?" I laughed as I put the flowers on the table. Everly shook her head mumbling an 'as you wish'.

"No, don't cut all the leaves, it'll become ugly." She whined as she took the flower from me pouting as she looked at it. "Do you even have a sense of aesthetic?" "Weren't you saying that I have a good taste few minutes ago?"

"Well, not for everything I guess." Sticking her tongue out, she continued cutting the rest of the flowers. "I'll just watch then."

-

"Tada!" She exclaimed as she showed me the flower put she just finished. She's actually good at it. The flowers were neatly put together in a way where they all complemented each other. "Bravo. 'You actually have a good taste.'" I teased patting her head. She pouted before laughing after me.

-

"I had a great time Mark. Thank you for today." After a few hours at the garden, it was already getting late so we came back home. "Stop thanking me at everything I do." "Then, I'll be leaving. Goodnight."

"Goodnight Everly."

"Goodnight Everly. Please that's so funny." Sigh. "What are you doing here? Why did you come?" "What do you mean? I was always here." "Let's talk inside, Raoul."
