1 - Weapon System

When I woke up, I found myself in a forest surrounded by big trees. Laying on the grass, I slowly try to get myself up while rubbing my head. As I tried to remember what happened before this, my head started to hurt even more as multiple memories came back to me. I was once on a planet called earth, but I died while trying to cross a busy street. I was in a rush to get to work, so I didn't really look at my surroundings, and before I knew it the image of a big truck was in front of my face when I turned my head and it ended there.

'Did I get saved? No, I definitely should have died from that. So it must mean I either got reincarnated which is unlikely since my body feels the same, or I transmigrated to another world.' The reason why this would pop up in my head is because back on earth, I always read novels like this, so I didn't really panic.

I look at my surroundings once again and try to figure out what to do from now on until I notice something in the bottom right corner of my field of vision. It seemed to be a exclamation mark in a box. Immediately, I knew what I had to do. "Notification!" I raised my voice and said but nothing happened. "Exclamation mark!" Since what I did earlier didn't seem to work I try to say the symbol but that too didn't work. But luckily enough I have read many novels to understand what else to do. I reach my hand out and try to tap at the exclamation mark, but that served to only make me look like a fool since if you were looking from a different view, I was pointing at the air.

Since neither of those worked, I just tried to concentrate on that exclamation box and very quickly it enlarged and opened up to a bigger square screen. "Welcome John Smith, to the world of weapons! I will be your weapon system where you can gain all types of weapons from." Is what the text on the screen said while I also heard a voice in my head reading that in a non-mechanical way. I was surprised, not at the system, but at how it talked. From my experience reading, most systems would sound monotone and seem like it did not care about you. This one though, weirdly enough, sounded happy.

The first question that I asked was, "System, how do I use you?" The system replied with, "The system interface is completely finished and all that is needed is for you to gain higher levels so that you can unlock even more of the systems benefits!" Then the text in my field of vision changed and what replaced it was a game interface.

Once I saw what was in the store, I immediately chose the Desert Eagle in the hot weapons section. Though the Desert Eagle's recoil is huge, it is also one of the most powerful pistols that I know of. As I check the store to see if there are any other things, i realize that the option to choose 1 out of 3 weapons in the cold weapons section is still available. Out of the 3, the hammer is definitely out of the equation.

A couple seconds later, a Desert Eagle and Dagger appeared in my hands. The reason I chose the dagger was because since the Desert Eagle will be my main weapon, the sword wouldn't be useful and the hammer would weigh too much at my current strength. The dagger was the best choice as I could use it for many other things other than fighting. Finally now that I have my weapons, I stop standing like a fool and look ahead.

It's still daytime so I can clearly see what's ahead of me, which is rows of trees with sunlight piercing through. I start walking ahead of me, and after walking for 30 minutes I finally manage to see a town in the distance.

Before I could get to it though, a wolf suddenly appeared in front of me and jumped at me. I panicked and hurried dodged to the side, then I realize I have a gun so I take it out and aim at the wolf. But I'm not dumb enough to stupidly shoot so I just keep my aim on the wolf since I have never shot a gun before. Maybe the wolf knows the thing in my hand can threaten its life so it just looks at me and gets in its stance.

Watching the wolf slowly moving around in its stance, ready to jump at any moment, I get nervous, not because of the wolf, but because of the Desert Eagle. I have never shot a gun, even more so for a Desert Eagle that has a powerful recoil force. Gripping tightly to the Desert Eagle with both my hands, I gradually pull the trigger and at the same time the wolf pounded at me right at where the muzzle of the gun is aiming.

*Bang* A loud gunshot echoes through the forest and lying before me was the body of a wolf with a huge hole in its head. My arms feel a little numb from the recoil, but I realize it wasn't as bad as I thought.

After that I immediately try to start walking to the town, but after seeing a bunch of soldiers on horses coming over, I start to hide behind a tree. The soldiers are now by the wolf, investigating what happened. As I try to make my escape, the most cliche thing happened to me. *Snap* "Who's there!?" Shouted the soldiers while 3 guards gradually get closer to my position. I sigh to myself and put both my hands up while walking out from behind the tree. "Hey guys..?"
