Chapter Eleven

Magnus stood at the door for only a half second but it felt like a million years that he left me in this room. I had to hold my heart still at the thought of him coming back. I found myself staring at the walls, I focused but felt lost inside the white paint. I felt my mind running every scenario that could ever happen with whatever he was talking about. Sadly, everything that I thought was bad. I wanted to tell him it was all okay, even if never was okay and never would be ever again. I wanted to be the one to give him that sweet, white lie. With every word that passed by, I could feel another step in the ladder of my heart ache for him.

Magnus was audibly defeated, ready to move away from the door as quickly as he got there.

He hurriedly addressed the other person kindly, with things like, “Alright, alright.” and sprinkled the conversation with a, “Are you kidding me, right now? Like right now?”
