Wandering in Another World

My name is Selena Martinez. I am just another one of those hard workers who doesn't know what to do with my life. I find my enjoyment in things like gaming, watching anime, reading, and hanging out with guy friends over my girlfriends; since most are married or seeing someone, it makes me feel like the third wheel whenever their boyfriends are around. Lately I have been lost in the world of light novel high fantasy. I always love to watch magic spells go off, big explosions fly, and see other races other than humans. 

It was another long day at work washing dishes and getting my hand all pruney. It was a thankless job from my point of view, even though it was not how some of my coworkers described it to me, but hell I just couldn't . It was late afternoon and my friend Dexter invited me to go out for a drink with another one of my friends, Jesse. These days it is hard to go out due to me working six days a week to make ends meet. I prefer to just head home and get lost in my fantasies. But due to me ignoring them he came to my apartment to drag me out and kick him hehe.

"Noooo, Dexter what will happen to the assassin who lost his will to do anything." I was kicking and screaming my lungs out as I was being forcefully pulled out of my apartment.

"Ooh no, whatever shall you do. Not be able to read for a few hours must be torture." Clearly having heard this song and dance enough times, he ignored it. He grabbed my hand and started dragging me towards the stairs.

"I know right. That's why you should just let me go and see what will happen next hehe." I was pulling against Dexter's grip on my hand.

"Not today, baby," he had a wicked grin as he delighted in seeing me in anguish. He made sure to take the stairs slower so we wouldn't fall down. 

Dexter eventually pulls me down and brings be over to his car, forcing me in. After getting in himself, he starts the car and begins heading over to our destination. That didn't stop me from shooting him a glare the entire trip.

"Ugh why are you like this…" He said exasperatedly. 

"I don't know, why are you so gay?" I quibbed back.

"Good grief you handful you know that?" he ribbed.

"And don't forget it haha!" I enjoy these moments even if I make it hard as hell for him. 

After a while we finally got to our destination, Secret Garden Spirits, a DnD theme bar. We enter it looking for our friend who is a tall, stupid looking asian. We quickly find him as he seems to be very focused on his phone as we approach him.

"Hey there, you look lost there." I said grab his attention.

"Hoe just sit down and order already. I already order my meal." Jesse said smugly at the two of us. 

Dexter high fives Jesse as he sits next to him, while I take a seat across from them.

"Selena here was a huge pain in the ass," Dexter told Jesse why they took so long to get there.

"So? That's her problem. Leave her ass if she is going to be an ass" Jesse didn't hold back.

"It's not my fault my books are more alluring than your candyman vibes you give off!" I shot back. I wasn't just going to take his shit lying down.

"Anyways," Dexter interrupts our spat as handed me the menu and we both ordered. "How have you been? You seem to have dark circles under your eyes?" Dexter asks Jesse soon after finishing ordering his food.

"Haha, being a store owner is not all it's cracked up to be. I had one customer today come in and get blood on the ceiling of my bathroom…" Jesse began to tell us about his lovely day.

"Joy… so when are you going to invite us to your workplace?" I bought up in my sweetest tone. 

"Over my dead body.." Jesse retorted back. 

The evening goes on with the group of buds talking about what they've been up to like, games and the book they are into at the moment.

After a few hours of eating and drinking, Dexter dropped me off in front of my apartment complex.

As he drove off, Selena had not felt the drinks really until she tried to walk up to her apartment. The world seemed to be tipping. She almost fell a few times, but managed to catch herself just before taking another step. The feeling got worse, her balance being lost entirely forcing her to lean against the guardrail. She leaned her full weight against it. Trying to hold on until the world stopped spinning. There was a snap, then feeling of falling, and the floor, three flights down, getting bigger.

'Damn that shitty owner!' were my last thought before I lost consciousness.

Next place Selena finds herself in is a pure white beach looking out to a pitch black ocean.

"Hey there Missy, how is it going?"
