Ruby was currently strolling with Emerald by his side. The duo appeared to be in a forest with dead trees that seemed dried and black.
Ruby knew that these trees were not ordinary since it was situated close to the witch coven; he had a feeling that it was their doing because, after all, witches like gloomy things.
"So now that I'm a wizard, can I also create those portals you normally do?" Ruby asked trying to alleviate the awkward atmosphere.
Emerald had initially suggested that they used the portal, but Ruby said otherwise. Not that he hated the portal, he just preferred to walk.
"Yes, you'd be able to do it with ease. Considering you're a dark mage, it would be more powerful and unique than the rest."
"Interesting. So far all these witches talk high about this dark affinity. I hope it's as they say."
On their way, Ruby proceeded to ask for more information about the witch coven and their work, and Emerald answered to the best of her understanding.
'I can feel it. She isn't telling me everything. Maybe it's because she doesn't trust me yet.'
Throughout her explanation, Ruby could vaguely tell that she omitted some details. He didn't think much about this because he too was like that.
He didn't trust people like that. The only people he trusted were his minions because he could see their loyalty percentage.
Humans, however, were a different case.
Sometime later, they arrived at a spot.
"You could go I can continue from here."
"You sure, "Emerald asked. " I can still accompany you if you want."
'Please say yes! Say yes!'
"It'd be fine. I can continue from here."
Emerald was a bit disheartened but she didn't show it. It was rare for her to be close to the opposite gender because of the witch's dumb rules. Sometimes, she even caused her ancestors for making the witch live this miserable.
"Okay, if you need anything you can contact me via the stone again. I look forward to meeting you again."
She started making weird patterns in the air, walking through the portal, and she vanished.
Ruby stared at the spot one last time before he teleported from place to place.
Sometime later, he appeared at the cave. However, what he saw almost made him choke. Natasha and Muna were eating and conversing as though they were pals.
'Weren't this girls fighting just now? If I could remember clearly, they wanted to kill each other. And now?'
"Hon. Welcome back!" Natasha and Muna suddenly yelled as they saw Ruby.
Ruby approached them and casually grabbed a seat in the middle of two ladies. "What happened to you guys?"
This was the first question that he asked.
"Umu?" Natasha acted as though she didn't hear what Ruby said.
"I mean what happened to both of you to suddenly act this close? Don't take me wrong, I like it as you guys are acting like this but I'm just curious."
Muna answered this time around. "It's a secret. We'll tell you when the right time comes."
She pecked Ruby on the cheek and Natasha boldly kissed him in the mouth, and after her tongue play with his tongue for some time she let go.
Ruby hiked his brows as both girls scurried out to do their things.
"This is weird. Javi, what the fuck is going on?!"
Sometime later Ruby was seated with a crossed leg as though he was meditating. His eyes were shut tight, and his chest rose and fell as he puffed out air.
After some time, his eyes suddenly snapped open.
"Now let's test this magic thing."
The black mist started surging out of his body, and soon it wrapped into the book. Soon, a flipping sound echoed as the book flipped to the first page, which showed the shadow spell.
"Say I could control the shadow, right? There is only one way to find out."
He extended his hands to the ground, then when he proceeded to chant the spell he had read in the book, the familiar prompt flashed.
[«Host has mastered the shadow spell»]
"Huh? That was fast, but how? Did the system automatically imprint the method in my brain just like the way it did with the abilities?"
[«Correct»]
After the little chat with the system, Ruby proceeded to cast his spell. With a low chant, darkness descended on the room, then the shadows on the floor seemed to come alive as they started swirling around.
The gloomy shadow coated the walls in its radiance as everywhere was shrouded in pure darkness.
"This is amazing! With this power, the supes would find it a bit hard to face me again. Though there are still some that would be able to give me hard time, the majority would still be easy to deal with."
Ruby closed and opened his hands, then a lengthy shadowy hand protruded out of his hands. The hands were lanky and it felt as though it was just an extension of Ruby's hands.
Ruby made a swat gesture with his hands, and as expected, the hands also mimicked his gesture.
"In a way. This shadow spell is similar to Hades' power. I wonder if that's his ability. But come to think of it, I've never seen any ability like that. Wait, let's see."
Ruby thought about a great sword and in a blink, the shadowy hands morphed into a greatsword similar to the one hepnormally used appeared in his grasp.
Swinging the Shadow sword around, it felt like it was a real sword in his grasp.
He had found his answer. Yup, the shadow spell was a bit too similar to Hades. The last time they fought, Hades had also used a similar sword with his power.
"But I can tell it's a bit different."
Ruby soon morphed the great sword into dual daggers. After that. he hauls both daggers at the wall.
Then, in mid-air, he snapped his hands, and with a clicking sound, the daggers turned into ten.
Ruby grinned as he made a casual wave with his hands and the daggers turned into nothingness.
To be honest, except for Hades, who was a villain, Ruby hadn't seen anyone with this kind of ability. Wrong, this was a supernatural power which meant it was superior
It surprised him a bit that it was just the first spell and he could already do all these tricks.
'I wonder what I could do if the next spell reveals itself.'
Thus Ruby continued to train for the past hours.
