Chapter-9 Village

The world seems full of good men, even if there are monsters in it.

"Master, when we were leaving, the air in the castle seemed heavy," Sakuya asked Cain when the two of them were near the village, she looked at his back with a worried look.

"Sakuya, that and the air of death approaching us." Cain turned his head back and spoke looking directly into Sakuya's blue eyes showing a beautiful smile but full of cold, which made even the little maid tremble with the frightening look of her master.

"Are we going to war?" Forgetting this feeling of fear of her heart, Sakuya asked, holding Cain's arm tightly.

Feeling Sakuya's little arm shake softly, Cain straightened her silver hair and showed her a beautiful bright smile.

He had forgotten that Sakuya is still a thirteen-year-old girl, not that woman who can freely manipulate time and space.

"Yes, let's go to war. Probably ten years tops, at least they'll start in five years." Cain spoke holding Sakuya's hand that had begun to shake because of his words.

"Don't worry, Sakuya. You won't be in the war if that's what you think." Cain spoke softly whispering in Sakuya's ear and looked into her eyes with sincerity.

"No, sir! How can I call myself a maid if I'm not going with my master to the battlefield? Sorry, master, your words brought back some old memories I'd forgotten, but now it's all right." Hearing the tone of sincerity and affection in Cain's voice, Sakuya felt an agonizing pain in her heart and quickly shook her head and knelt on the ground as she kept her head down with shame to look up.

"Raise your head, Sakuya Izayoi..." Seeing the girl afraid to look up, Cain spoke in a voice without emotion as he looked directly at her kneeling on the ground with his red eyes glowing with a red light.

Sakuya, hearing Cain's order, slowly raised her head and looked into the red eyes of her master with a little shame but did not look away.

"Don't worry about the war that's going to happen, my parents are probably already starting preparations to kill most of the humans in the Orthodox Church army." Seeing Sakuya looking at him, Cain crouched in front of her and spoke with a beautiful, warm smile for her.

Sakuya felt her heart tremble to look at that beautiful sunny smile on Cain's rosy lips.

"Come on Sakuya, I want to get it off my chest by killing some filthy mutts," Cain spoke helping Sakuya get up and then jumped on a branch of a tree and started running at frightening speeds as he jumped from branch to branch.

Sakuya, while striving to reach her master, reached Cain and continued to keep the pace until Cain, stops on a branch and looks forward showing a cold smile.

Without waiting for Sakuya to say anything, Cain jumped off the branch and landed on the ground with his fingertips while perfectly maintaining the appearance of a noble vampire of pure blood.

Sakuya followed Cain and landed behind him and waited patiently for the next order in complete silence.

"Let's see what this village has to offer," Cain spoke to Sakuya as he began to walk towards the small village with slow steps.

Arriving at the village, the first thing Cain saw was dozens of people looking at him every second, as if they were watching him. Cain could see hunger, greed, lust all together looking at him and Sakuya as if two beautiful pieces of meat.

Suddenly as Cain was about to speak, an old hunchback leaning on a wooden cane was slowly approaching towards him and Sakuya.

"My lord, welcome to the village of Rohde. My name is Frank, the head of this village. May I humbly ask what you've come to do in this poor village?"  The old man named Frank spoke with respect as he bowed with difficulty towards Cain.

"Hello Mr. Frank, I'm on a trip with my maid, I'd like to stay at an inn tonight. Sure, I'll pay for all the costs." Cain spoke with a smile full of innocence for the old village chief. 

Sakuya looked at her master's innocent smile and found it very sweet and adorable, so she decided to make a mental portrait, never to forget.

The moment Cain saw the old chief of the village, he felt his body exhaling, a smell of wet, dirty, filthy dog.

"My lord, I'm sorry, we have no inn, this humble village. Rarely do traders come here in these godforsaken lands, so no one has taken any interest in our little village, but Lord may spend the night at my house." The old chief of the village Frank spoke bowing once more with difficulty to Cain, who only narrowed his eyes but the childish, innocent smile remained on his lips.

"Of course, then I thank you in advance, for the kindness of Chief Frank," Cain spoke by putting his hand on his chest and bowed slightly to the village chief as he showed a grateful smile on his face.

"My lord, José will accompany you to my house. I have some business treating the people of the village." Frank spoke with a friendly smile on his wrinkled face like a kind, loving grandfather would for his own grandchildren.

"No problem, thanks again for the hospitality. Joseph, please come, I'm tired of this long trip." Cain spoke to Frank with a grateful smile and then spoke to a normal-looking man who started walking towards the village chief's house.

"Alpha, just smelling those two, my mouth starts salivating." A middle-aged man spoke swallowing dry while looking at Cain and Sakuya's back with uncontrollable hunger.

"Silence… Marco, they are mine. Prepare the pack, tonight we are going to have a banquet and the main course in the hearts of a nobleman and a beautiful young woman." The old village chief spoke with an extremely hideous smile capable of making a child cry just by looking at him.
