10 CHAPTER TEN

"Because something doesnt feel right about her. Please cut all ties with her"David said calmly. I sighed. "But she is the only friend I have" I said. "No princess. You have Angel and Clyde even me" he said.

There is something Dave isnt telling me. I'll cut ties with her cos I cant choose a total stranger over my family. "Princess" Dave called distracting me from my thoughts. I looked at him. "You'll meet someone else. And you can be friends with James" he said. "James?" i asked. "Yes. The best student in grade 2" he replied.

The next day I told Kate I couldnt be her friend. She wasnt happy and I felt bad. I didnt wait for anyone before going to the cafeteria. I waited for them to arrive before I started eating. "Why didnt you wait in class? And where is your friend?" Clyde asked. I looked at Dave and he looked away. My eyes caught someone seating on the extra seat. He was staring at me but looked away when our eyes met. "Kate isnt my friend anymore." I said "Princess, this is James" Dave said. I smiled at him. "Nice to meet you James" I said and continued with my food. I finished my food and stood up to leave. James and Dave came after me. "Princess wait" Dave said and I stopped but didnt look back. He stood in front of me and raised my head to look at him. "I'm sorry" he said before walking away. "Lets go" James said and we walked to class.

As the days went by mum and dad gave me more attention than necessary. Dave began to withdraw. He stopped calling me princess.

I dont know why Dave became distant and no matter how much I tried he wont talk to me. Only Mira could talk to him and he stopped her from talking to me.

The years went by gradually but things didnt improve between David and I. I was more of a stranger than a sister. Exactly what went wrong? James and I became very close.

We were all in high school. Dave, Mira and Clyde were in their final year. James and I were in our penultimate year.
