Stranded with no WIFI

-Now who is going to get fired when I get back?-

Bemused Tian Long as he glares at the unfamiliar 16. CE German houses with interlacing wooden beams, floral plants lining the windowsill, and rusty-red brick roofs. Standing on the cobble stones of a narrow intersection with his hands in his dark blue trousers' pockets, he serves as a stark contrast to the surrounding elderly Germans in their lounge and leisure-wear crossing the streets to and fro. To the Germans, this 6-foot tall man of Chinese descent with his dark black hair in a side-swept fashion sticks out like a needle in a hay stack.

Though he looks out of place, the man radiates a confident and aloof temperament with slight chagrin, so no one approached him. Likewise, Germans are direct and will not meddle in others' business. Unfortunately, this resulted in Tian Long standing for two whole hours at the pedestrian intersection close to where the bus fist dropped him off. He is too prideful to ask for direction, but also expected for someone to voluntarily offer him help.

This godforsaken town has no WIFI or internet connections anywhere. Tian Long had tried earlier to phone his assistant, but his network is not receiving any signals. Likewise, the old medieval town does not have a cafe or restaurant with wireless internet connections.

After another 15 minute of waiting, Tian Long sees an approaching bus and paces back toward the bus stop. Once the bus halted and opened its door, rushed in Tian Long and curtly spoke "Return ticket" as he handed his black platinum debit card.

The bus driver responded, "Ich kann Ihnen nicht verstehen/Sir, I can not understand you. Auch nur Bar bitte/Also only cash please." The driver waves away Tian Long's card.

Exhausted from four hours of waiting, Tian Long is incensed from the driver's gibberish and refusal. Damn I knew I should've picked up a German language book during the flight.

Though Tian Long was a prized pupil, he was never interested in the humanities and always occupied himself with science and technology. His second language was English, which he assessed was integral because the entire world must conform to this globalized language.

As a rich young master of the Tian first branch family, he always had translators at his beck and call if needed. It was only for the first time today that Tian Long found himself in this situation. As his face scrunched up in displeasure, he feels a light tap on his shoulder. Snapping his head around, he glared at the perpetrator. A young woman wearing loose black V-neck T-shirt partly tucked in her black skinny jeans nervously smiled at him. She stood to his shoulder with waist-length black hair and dark blonde ombre. Although she did not possess a devastatingly beautiful appearance, her smile weaves a description of cute and lovely for others.

"Hallo! If you don't mind, I can help you translate." she smiled and continued. "Where do you need to go?"

"Out of here." Rebuffed Tian Long gruffly.

She continued to smile but her eyes slightly narrowed to a degree. "I need more information than that. Do you know the address?"

Tian Long took out his phone only to find that the expensive smartphone is out of battery. He feels an exceptional tendency to smash the phone to smithereens now.

Seeing the man in front of her glaring at his dead phone, the young woman offered, "I have the same charger as your smartphone at my place, luckily. Also, the bus will only take cash for fares. Seeing that you have no address, you are welcome to come back to my place, charge your phone, and use my wifi to figure things out?". After saying a mouthful of words, the young woman peeked up to observe the tall man.

Given any other situation, Tian Long would've assumed that this woman before him has other intentions, but he was desperate this time, so he reluctantly agreed, "Fine."

Tian Long observes the woman happily turning to the bus driver and speaking in German. She counts some Euro coins in her hand and exchanges them for an orange and white colored ticket. Then she hands the ticket to Tian Long who still appeared displease.

"We can sit now." commented the woman as she leads the way to a seat in the back. As he makes his way, Tian Long coldly gazes ahead while he ignores the impatient stared of the other passengers, who watched his earlier altercations.
