CHAPTER 3

It was the day for the Genin Team Assignments. With how the rankings were, I assumed that I would be in a different team from Naruto and Sakura. Slowly Iruka came to the class and started announcing the Teams starting from Team 1.

"Team 7 will consist of Naruto Uzumaki, Hinata Hyuga and Sasuke Uchiha. Please wait for your Jonin Instructor. 

Team 8 will consist of Shino Aburame, Sakura Haruno and Kiba Inuzuka with Jonin Instructor as Kurenai Yuhi.

Team 10 will consist of Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara and Choji Akimichi with Jonin Instructor as Asuma Sarutobi". 

I was a little Surprised with the Team Allotments since I didn't expect Naruto to be in my Team. And the weird part was they didn't announce who our Jonin Sensei was. I assumed it would be Kakashi.

And so all our Classmates went away once their Sensei's came to pick them and only we were left. It was already an hour since we were waiting. Naruto was scowling at me while Hinata was trying to speak with Naruto. Although she was very happy to be on same team as Naruto, she was shy.

Suddenly, we saw someone enter the room who I assumed to be our Jonin Sensei. And to my Shock, it was not Kakashi. It was Tsunade Senju, but she was looking more younger like she has not yet reached 20 years.

"Hello Students, I am Tsunade Senju and I am going to be your Jonin Sensei. I am 19 Years old. My hobbies include Gambling and Sight Seeing. You can all start introducing yourself".

Before I could respond, Hinata asked in a shocked tone, "Tsunade Sensei, sorry to ask, but how are you here. I was told by my clan that you are one of the Sannin but died in the Second Shinobi World War while fighting in the Second Shinobi World War. Sorry for my ignorance, I was told that entire Senju Clan went extinct". 

Tsunade laughed and replied, "It's okay, Hinata right. It's true that I am one of the Sannin and was assumed to be dead in the Second Shinobi World War. But truth is that I was fighting in Kirigakure and was out of commission. You must have heard of Yuki Clan of Kirigakure, people who could use Ice Release Jutsus. I actually fought many of Yuki Clan members, wherein due to a mistake, I was frozen in ice by their Jutsus and assumed dead. Thanks to my Lineage, even though I was frozen in ice and stuck as a 19 year old for 30+ years, I was still alive and did not age. I recently got released by sheer luck wherein then I escaped to Konoha. Only a few people know about my survival, but to the majority of the world, I am dead".

Wait, what? Tsunade was supposed to be alive kicking in early 50s in Canon. Here, she is just 19 years old and she was apparently frozen like some Captain America. How could the Canon Time line change like this when I did not do anything drastic to change it. 

Hinata started introducing herself, "I am Hinata Hyuga. My aim is to become a strong shinobi so that I can prove myself to my Clan and not be considered as a Dead Weight. My Hobbies are pressing flowers". Tsunade looked at her with a smile.

Naruto started, "I am Naruto Uzumaki. I like doing Pranks and eating Ramen. My aim is to become the Greatest Hokage ever, so that everyone in the village will acknowledge me".

Tsunade looked at him in a Bittersweet way. She spoke, "You remind me a lot of my younger brother. He also wanted to be a Hokage but he died in the previous war. A small tip for you: It's not people who become Hokage are acknowledged by village but people who are acknowledged become Hokage".

She then looked at me to continue and I gave the Canon Sasuke Introduction. She didn't say anything, must have felt like Typical Uchiha introduction to her.

Tsunade immediately continued, "Alright Team, now that you may not know this, but you have not yet passed the Graduation Exam. Each of us Jonin's can have a Test of our Format to assess you and decide whether you are worthy to be Shinobi. Failing our Assessment means you will again go back to the Academy. Meet me tomorrow at the Training grounds and come with whatever arsenal you want. Tomorrow, it will be a Survival Exercise where I will constantly try to attack you. Your objective is to stay strong and not be put out of commission. I will be honest, the people I cared about died and I couldn't do anything to save them. I don't want to live with further Guilt that people died on my watch. So I want to see how strong you are and assess whether you can actually be strong Shinobi".
