Bai Yue was afraid!
A vast plain lay before Zheng Fei and Bai Yue, separated in half by a road that could barely stand scrutiny. If anything, it was nothing more than a path made by travelers over the years. The wind swept through the plain in a gust of dust, dirt, and dried blood.
Bai Yue buried her nose in the collar of her cloak and peeked at the man standing four steps in front of her. The realization that he was no mere human was slowly sinking in, though still mixed with a tinge of disbelief.
However, how could a woman who went through death and rebirth deny the existence of the supernatural?
"What about the beast we encountered with His Highness?" she asked after a long while, her gaze shifting away to the little bat flying over their heads. Its small wings were fighting against the wind to keep it in the air. "Was it another kind of demon?"
