Truth Bearers

Pastor Caleb Colby packed away his Bible and notes, grateful that another Sunday service had nourished his congregation's faith. Though eager smiles and handshakes usually lifted his spirit, an ominous feeling persisted, like the storm clouds gathering beyond the chapel windows.

Returning home, Caleb tried dismissing unease as exhaustion. Yet as rain fell, scripture from Amos emerged with clarity: "Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants, the prophets." Compelled to pray, Caleb kneeled beside his bed, beseeching wisdom.

That night, troubling dreams assaulted his rest. Formless shadows crept through deserted streets as an eerie chanting swelled. Caleb witnessed hordes converging upon a towering obelisk crowned with a grim idol. Though faceless, their leader exuded malice as twisted scripts flooded billboards and screens with lies.

Caleb jolted awake, his heart pounding. Fetching his Bible, he delved into eschatological passages with fresh urgency. As dawn broke, clarity pierced the turmoil—humanity now faced malign forces coalescing to corrupt and deceive on a massive scale. Though daunting, God would equip laborers for the harvest if they asked.

At church that morning, Caleb sensed a shifting atmosphere as he addressed his flock. Sharing his visions and revelations, he cautioned of a vast conspiracy threatening faith and virtue yet assured believers they could overcome through Christ's strength. While most accepted the warning in peace, doubt lingered in some eyes, while others seemed gripped by fear.

That evening, Caleb met with a few trusted elders to lay plans. Deacons John and Mark lent supportive counsel alongside the chapel's secretary, Susan. After fervent prayer, Caleb's course became clear: gather a group committed solely to unmasking the deception through research, prayer, and scripture.

Spreading the call, Caleb located devoted souls with complementary skills. Computer scientist Daniel and linguist Rachel joined alongside historian Andrew and political science teacher David. Though strangers, each accepted the grave threat and Caleb's divine mandate to counter it.

On their first Sabbath together, the team bonded through worship and a fellowship meal at Caleb's home. As darkness fell, they gathered around the fireplace, where Caleb addressed them. "Friends, difficult days lie ahead. Our enemies wield immense power and will stop at nothing to achieve their goal's. But take heart in Christ's victory, nothing can defeat us if we fight as one under God's banner of truth."

Looking into their determined yet uncertain faces, Caleb trusted that the Lord had provided these allies for such a time as this. Though storms brewed without and within, staying the course would require persevering together through faith in Him who has already overcome the world.
