Progress

{*Author note: In this fanfic, there will be a couple of things that are going to be different, like the traits of some danger and magical beasts and the world itself. Additionally, there will be new and completely different life forms. I should have mentioned this sooner, but better late than never, right?

As for another note, some of you may have noticed by the tags that this will be a harem. I already have picked one heroine that will 100% be in there, there will be a total of 3 members, and you, the readers, can pick the other 2. You guys can let me know which little witch you want to have added to the harem.

Who did I pick, you ask? Luna, of course, Luna is the best girl hands-down. If you think differently, come and bite me then!

Alright, enough nonsense, onward with the story!*}

When Aaron woke up, the first thing he did was summon his task screen. He remembered he had a new task which he needed to take a look at.

[

Task: Kill the troll.

Rewards: 500 system points(sp), random bloodline.

*Hmm, defeat or kill the troll... I'll need to go to the library and get more information about that. Even though the little trio defeated that troll with a levitation charm, I don't believe it's that easy to defeat a troll, and I'm not exactly the child of destiny in this world either*. Aaron thought. Seeing his new task, he decided to go to the library and look up information about the troll, practice his spells, and if needed, learn a couple of new ones to help him with his task.

Upon arriving at the library, Aaron immediately picked a book called 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.' Opening the book, he went to the chapter that introduced the troll, its traits, and habitat.

From it, he gathered that they have low intelligence, great strength, and that their skin has pretty decent magic resistance. Well, at least a little wizard's magic definitely won't cause much direct harm to it.

Done with his research about the troll, Aaron decided to visit the Room of Requirement to practice his magic. Heading to the seventh floor, Aaron found the troll tapestry. Walking past it three times and muttering in his head I need a room to practice magic only I can enter, a door appeared in front of him. Opening the door, he was met with a training ground decorated with a dozen training dummies. Some of them had wands in their hands, and others had weapons ranging from swords to axes. In the middle, there was a pillar.

Walking up to the pillar, he saw two dials with a button in the middle. One dial had numbers ranging from one to nine, and the other one had words that said, 'easy', 'normal', 'hard', and 'extreme'. Thinking to himself that this must be the difficulty levels he could set, he immediately set it to the easiest level. The moment he was done and pressed the button, one of the dummies began to move towards him. Taking a step back, he waved his wand and recited his spell.

"Incendio!"

The fire shot out of his wand but missed its target, giving Aaron a shocked expression. Not because he missed his target, but because he saw that his fire was black instead of its normal orange color.

*What the hell!? Why is it black?* He thought when he suddenly remembered his title 'The one blessed by the God of Death.'*But it didn't say anything about changing anything about the magic I cast*. While Aaron was thinking, the dummy waved its wand, which shot out a scarlet light heading towards Aaron.

"Damn it!"

While cursing, he rolled to the side and recited the fire-making charm again.

"Incendio!"

This time, his aim was true. The black fire instantly consumed the training dummy, not even leaving ash behind.

"Yeah, definitely not a normal fire-making charm, that's for sure," he muttered, shocked at the amount of power that simple fire-making charm had. Sitting on the ground, he began thinking to himself, That dummy burned down rather quickly. It only took a second for it to completely disappear, along with the fire that burned it down. Okay, let's test this spell more.

For the next few hours, Aaron focused on practicing his magic against the training dummies, gradually increasing the difficulty. He noticed that the higher the level, the more aggressive and skilled the dummies became. At the 'hard' level, they moved faster and showed better combat strategy, making it more challenging for him. Eventually, Aaron decided to test the 'extreme' level, but he quickly realized it was beyond his current abilities. The dummies on this level were relentless and had a much better grasp of advanced spells and techniques, leaving Aaron defeated and humbled.

While resting, Aaron reviewed what he had learned from his training session:

1. His Incendio: He discovered that it only burned down anything that he wanted to burn down at the time of casting (only tested on inanimate objects for now).

2. Training modules: The modes from 'easy' to 'hard' only changed the number of opponents he faced. The qualitative change was significant when he switched to 'extreme.'

3. Spell progression: As his spells leveled up, the experience points (XP) required for further progression increased. He dreaded to think how much XP he would need for higher levels.

Nodding to himself he opened his status screen.

Feeling satisfied with his progress, Aaron decided to focus more on strengthening his friendships at Hogwarts. He continued spending time with Hermione in the library, but their relationship remained strictly platonic. He didn't feel the need to befriend Harry at the moment, as he wanted to take things slowly and focus on his own growth.

Over the next few weeks, Aaron's spells finally reached level 3. He discovered that he could now cast his spells silently, although they were less powerful. With this newfound ability, Aaron felt confident that he could defeat the troll and complete his task. He eagerly anticipated obtaining a bloodline, which would significantly increase his strength.

During dinner in the auditorium, Aaron joined Edward and Michael. Edward teased Aaron about his time spent with Hermione, but Aaron brushed it off, insisting that they were just study partners. Michael then challenged Aaron to a game of wizard chess, and after some hesitation, Aaron agreed, thinking it would be a nice change of pace.

To Edward and Michael's surprise, Aaron defeated Michael in their game of chess. Aaron couldn't help but feel proud, remembering how he used to play against advanced AI in the hospital. After their game, the boys went to bed, ready to face another day at Hogwarts.

As Aaron continued to balance his studies, training, and social life, he couldn't help but feel that he was growing stronger and more capable. With each passing day, he felt more prepared to face the challenges that lay ahead, including the task of defeating the troll.

While Aaron's days at Hogwarts became a routine of studying, training, and socializing, the day of the troll's arrival was drawing closer. Aaron's confidence in his abilities had grown, but he knew that he couldn't underestimate the danger the troll presented. He decided to spend more time researching the troll's characteristics and weaknesses in the library.

One day, as Aaron sat in the library with Hermione, he found a passage in a book that described a specific weak point in the troll's anatomy. The passage mentioned that a troll's nasal cavity was particularly sensitive and vulnerable, making it an ideal target for spells. Armed with this knowledge, Aaron felt even more prepared for the upcoming encounter.

Okay so, this chapter came out a bit later than I expected. I have a severe headache that's actually ****** killing me. Ugh, I don't want to say more, just enjoy the chapter even though it might be a disappointing one.
