1 A New World

"aaahh" Shin opened his eyes as he grogily yawned.

"Finally waking up after class is over. God you really are unbelievable."

"Shut up Anko"

"Shin, I've told you over and over again for 12 years! It's not Anko. it's Ankero, An-Ke-Ro!" said Ankero with a fake angry face at Shinkei.

They had met when they were both five and since then they had been basically inseparable. Ankero was lively and liked to spit out jokes. Which usually attracted a lot of attention especially from the girls. He always loved to rub that into his face. Shinkei on the other hand was uninterested about everything and much less talkative than his best friend. Even though their attitudes didn't match people could still see how they were friends since their faces were quiete pleasing to the eye.

Ankero was more wild and tended to look like a rebel with his piercings and and bleached hair. He was more outgoing and rebelious, skipping class and talking back to the teachers. He would have been expelled sooner if the teachers weren't constantly surprised by his rediculously high grade scores.

The Girls would oftenly describe him as all around perfect. So he tended to always have a crowd going after him. there had even been a point where a rich girl had bought him an island as long as he accepted to date her.

But this of course couldn't attract him. Ignoring the fact that he was the main heir of a one of the country's largest conglomerate, he stayed relatively humble when it came to his money so people usually didn't recognize how rich he was. And he usually liked to ask the girls out himself not the other way around.

Shin was much calmer than his best friend usually not talking and sleeping in the back of class. He always had a "just woke up" look on him and a killer smile. but the girls barely ever got to see that so they maily focused on Anko. The teachers left him alone since he didn't cause much truble like his best friend. It also helped that he was ranked first in his year when it came to academics. He also took a lot of different classes and meddled in everything that he could. Although people thought that because of his good friendship with Anko he also came from a wealthy family, they would be surprised if they knew the truth.

He came from a working class family. They didn't ask for much from him, they were loving and kind and just wanted him to live calmly in the future. But Shin had always been very caring and affectionate when it came to his family. He had grown up seeing his father wake up early and come home late from work in order to pay the bills. He saw as his mother carefully took care of her worn out clothes to look presentable at work. He had decided from a young age that even if not for himself, he wanted to become successful to allow his parents to retire happilly.

Thats why as soon as he learned that he was slightly gifted at studies he pushed himself even further and learned as much as he could in order to keep his future bright. By the time he finished middle school he had already been first in his school and had gotten a scholarship to go to the same school as Anko.

He studied a lot and that didn't leave much time for his social life so it was always refreshing when Anko would come to his house and forcufully pull him away from his books and take him to play.

Shin had been pretty excited for highschool, it was the first time that he would be able to hang out with Anko at school. And he was also ready to see if he could keep his grades steady through highschool in order to get into a good college.

He was pleasantly dissapointed when he found that his self studies had already put him past his year, and he had already learned mostly everything in even the seniors year. He had then decided to try everything he could in order to have more options for college. He began to study college lever materials and he especially excelled in finances, medical sciences, and legal affairs.

"Like you said its been 12 years, and you still get mad about being called Anko" said Shin as he grabbed his things and started to leave.

"Hey Sinkei, dumb ass, you forgetting something?" Said Ankero with a gloating look on his face as he held a book high in the air.

"Yeah, yeah whatever. See I don't get mad over you messing with my name now do I?" Shinkei walked to Ankero and grabbed the book from his hand.

As he put the book with the rest of his things, a piece of paper fell out and landed next to his feet.

He went to pick it up and noticed that there was something written on it.

It said, Welcome.

As he finished recognizing the word his vision began to fade and the world blacked out.

"Finally took you long enough."

This was the first thing that Shin heard before opening his eyes again. He looked around and all he saw were small orbs of light immersed in a sea of darkness. As he looked at himself he saw his body fading in and out, sometimes being solid and real and the next second becoming almost nonexistent.

"What's happening to me?" said Shin as panic started to creep up in his voice.

"Where am I?"

"What is this?"

Shin kept asking this as he continued desperately trying to comprehend what was happening to him. he had studied countless kinds of sciences and even theorised things for himself. But even in his wildest of though he could not believe that what was happening was reality.

"Calm down I'll explain, and stop talking you'll understand soon enough." Said this voice which didn't seem to have any sort of gender or depth.

"First of all, you are being sent to another world, where you will be more beneficial than in this one."

"I have seen all the outcomes of you staying in this place, and none of them end with you contributing in any way to these people."

"Yet, in this new world to which you're going, you will make an impact which will be remembered for the rest of time."

"Any more questions?"

"Yes. do I have the choice of going back?" asked Shin with a newfound understanding of his predicament. Still even with his thoughts racing, he would not allow himself to forget about his family.

"Ha! Even if I wanted to send you back to you world, once your soul left your world it became impossible for you to return."

"But, what will happen to my body and to the life I had? Will I die, or will the people around me just forget me?" Asked Shin.

"Nonsense that would cause an annoying problem for me to deal with. What I did was replicate your memories and experiences, then I formed a pseudo-soul for you which I inserted into your body. All that happened on Earth is you fainting and the people around you getting scared for a while. There will be no permanent changes to the environment around you. This pseudo-soul will live out your life and it will continue to grow as you would have done." replied the voice answering Shin's questions with disdain.

"Then if I have no choice but to go to this new world, can you describe how it is?"

"The world to which you're going is a place of magic, demons, heroes, kings, and empires. I have already prepared everything for you to arrive there and have chosen a suitable body for you to take over. You will be able to make great contributions to this world."

"That is all that I will reveal to you, good luck I'll be watching your progress."
